Not all tower construction uses structural steel.
Many high-rises in Vancouver B.C. are nothing more than concrete and rebar, and these are towers 20, 30 or more stories.
As Donald said though there is generally a few floors of parking underground and a substantial footing base.
Seeing as there is no underground parking most likely there were many pilings driven to support the building.

 

For Y'all who can actually check out the pics, I've got a question about the Jacuzzi suites, where the premiere people get put usually, unless you ask different. First ahs there been any word I've missed (I've not noted any, so that should be easy) or picture evidence showing things, about changes being made to those rooms other than the cosmetic?

The only true gripe Stacia has about TTR is the lack of countertop space in the bathroom area, you see. It'd be nice to report an upgrade to that. It'd get me laid, so hook me up.

 

We found a sulution for that problem ,,, use the tray on top of the fridge , and put it on the luggage bench ( thing that opens to put luggage on , while unpacking ) , and put it in the washroom,, or steal your nieghbours outside table ( jk )

Those rooms are getting redone (pretty much more then just basic cosmetic changes), so I would imagine the bathrooms and shower will match the new style. Which could provide more, or even less, counter space.

 

Great photos, but where are we going to go skinny dipping at 3am now the sports pool has gone?

 

We may have to convert the quiet pool to that early AM task. Does the resort next door have a unused pool at that time?

From what we saw in 3101 and 3102 in September, the counter space shrunk considerably. And it has a vessel sink so that tends to be even less usable space.

 

Doesn't poured concrete withstand hurricanes and flying debris quite well?

 

Man... I don't know how it could be less.... less implies "some," and there's hardly any right now with that raised sink on what amounts to a pedestal counter. My stuff is forever falling on the floor, ack.

As to taking over things next door, I can personally attest that the resort next door has very comfortable beach beeds/palapas with amazingly good bounce-back for coed acrobatics, totally abandoned by security at night at around.... oh say after 1:00 a.m.

TTR Quiet pool, not nearly so security free...
