On the positive side the sexy pool is way bigger than I imagined. It looks like it is going to be an awesome party spot. And the deck is very large on the beach side. It runs from the old premier wooden deck all the way down to where the Asian restaurant was. Looks like there will be plenty of room for chairs on that side of the pool.

Also the pool bar had stainless steel sinks installed. I found it odd that someone was polishing them when there was so much concrete work left and grounds finishing work. I guess their priorities are rightly focused on the bar.

It looked like there may be two pool bars. One (which had the sinks in I mentioned above) was where margaritas used to be. So on the side towards the hotel. And another between the pool and the beach. Really looked like the pool bar(s) would be big enough to handle the additional people.

Add in the jacuzzi over top to the right and the stage to the left (if you are facing the hotel) and wow the pool looks like it will be an absolute amazing party area with enough bar space and chair space to keep all happy

 

Thanks for the reports, I realize you're on vacation, but they're lacking the usual Kyle back story. How did you get away from the family to spend time at TTR?

Steve for allowing those inputs to be put on this thread I still think it will be cool for everybody to walk in and see the wow Factor but this is giving us some sprinkles before we get the cake just got back from Vegas 10 days awesome but still Temptations Cancun is #1 it's amazing to see from the demolition party that we went to. to the opening what has been accomplished. Steve a question for you since they remodeled the pool I don't know if you remember the all-night party they had the the night before it closed at pool do you think once in awhile once a week they could do that on Saturday nightsit was totally under control but the greatest party ever just a suggestion

 

Yeah sorry I could either wait until I get back home and do the typical back story, drawn out, etc or I could squeeze in quick posts between kid requests, visiting cenotes, making drinks for my mom...you get the idea. So quickly posting when I can. This trip is for everyone else. August is for us 2

 

They started putting up those wavey boarders on the left and right outside parts of the tower. The ones that you see in the artist rendering. Looks like it closes in the hallways more where you walk to the entrance to your room. Maybe because it is higher up they need to protect it from the elements. The tower rooms have a lot of activity but clearly they have not gotten to the 'finishing' stage yet. Most of the workers were focused on the connection of the two towers and that is fully connnected now. Also a lot of workers in the lobby area but that has a bunch of wires and concrete everywhere. So looks like they have a lot to do there too before getting to the finishing work. Definitely an area where a lot of workers were focused now though.

I am wondering if there would be an alternate check in spot for the scenario where only the quiet pool opens in the soft opening. I would think they would need the lobby done but maybe that is why they have the most people working there now.

 

First let me say that you admitted to not being an expert.. second, you were walking the grounds and I wasn't... I totally get that... and I appreciated the comments on what's in store.. as you say.. wets the appetite... all that being said....

Do you really think there is a possibility that the Sexy Pool won't be ready for August 15th? Seriously? I think people would die if that isn't ready...

We see pools being installed in people's yards from scratch in a week on TV all the time and they have 6 weeks and basically unlimited resources to compete the signature item for the hotel.

I understand that there looks to be a lot to be done but I'll willing to bet it will be done just fine for 8/15.

I admitted to not being an expert, to not knowing anything about construction and to just giving my uneducated opinion. Everyone is entitled to an opinion right? I would agree that people would die and be upset. I was shocked at how much was left to do. And there were not that many people working on the pool area. Maybe 4-5 people on the jacuzzi with concrete saws. One person tiling near the jacuzzi and one person whiping down the bar area.

Now I know many believe TTR can do now wrong and they know what they are doing but what if their plan isn't to open this area as part of the soft opening? Just throwing that out there. I booked a tower room so think it must be their plan but wow they have a lot left to do.

Just my 2 cents. I would not bet against them because like I said it is an uneducated opinion and we are visiting August 15th so last thing I want to do is route against myself

 

No I understand and I meant no insult... and I for one knows and have said when TTR does wrong in the pasted so no biases here... but the Sexy Pool is TTR as much as the new Tower and Bash will be. There's no way it won't be ready for August 15th. So go forth and enjoy..

Oh and when I said die if it wasn't ready.. I wasn't talking about the guest... I was talking about the General Contractor..

 

I agree it is the life of the resort. Before seeing what I saw I thought no chance. After seeing what I saw I think there is a chance. I do think they will do whatever it will take to make it happen. Was just odd that it didn't feel that way Thursday.
