Yeah, an international calling card is a good idea. I have never used one before so not sure how they work but I guess I can look into it. Would I call from the room using the calling card or am I supposed to use a payphone? I saw something about using payphones instead of room phones but I don't see why?
Great question. I have a portable MyFi by Verizon. I was going to call them to see if I would get killed with charges if I took it there.
A prepaid calling card works fine. Have purchased some right at the hotels from a vending machine, felt a little suspicious about it , but got what I paid for. I am sure there are different ones that have better rates so a little research would be advised. Some hotel room phones have a surcharge on calls so I always feel better using pay phones in lobby. I hate surprises so it gives peace of mind.
pirate boat only a 5 minute walk from the hotel, starbucks 10 minute bus ride either direction xx I have travelled by bus and by foot 100s of times solo all around cancun hotel zone and downtown, no problems. You can use a calling card from local phone boxes just outside the hotel, and they have computetrs in the lobby for guests, also wifi available. I am not sure of current charges. some people buy a mexican sim package to use also.. sure there is a thread on here about it xx

We are returning to Temptation for our 2nd trip, December 2-11. We had so much fun last year we are coming back for twice the amount of time for twice the amount of fun!! We are signed up for the boob cruise on December 6th - thanks Steve! It was the highlight of our trip last year! Thank you Sue for posting the theme nights!! They were so fun to participate in. I've been picking the perfect outfits! Look forward to seeing old friends and making new friends!!
The pirate boat (also where the ferry to Isla is) is only about 1/2 mile from TTR. We have walked up and down the area outside the resort several times. No problems ever. Its no different than walking down any other large city street. Just use common sense and be polite. No worries.
Oh nice, did you actually book to stay at TTR? That's good news, I thought you were just coming for the cruise. Buy yourself some theme wear!
