Hello! My better half and I just booked our trip here for Dec 6th to the 10th. It is our first trip to the resort, and out of the country(besides of Canada), for that matter!! We are definitely looking forward to having a lot of fun and relaxing while we are there. I have a few questions and I am hoping you all can help... First, we want to do a tour of the Mayan Ruins at some point, and we would like to hear what company/tour you would suggest. I am 37 and he is 43, and we like some adventure, so keep that in mind.... Also, what should we pack besides of the normal vacation stuff?? I see stuff about theme nights, lingerie, etc. We are fun people and we like to join in on the fun, but, being new to this, don't really know what to expect or what we need to bring. What exactly is the atmosphere or "culture" here, if you don't mind me asking? Define that however you see fit. Is there anything else we should know? What is the standard for tipping there? look forward to meeting you on the 6th, its the casino lingerie night so everyone will be in theme, the theme is in the disco area, you can choose to stay in pattyo bar if you dont want to participate, but after the show some people do tend to head into pattyos still in lingerie xx
Regarding the what should we pack question.... Men can take anything, nobody notices, although I always take something to compliment what Kathy has, ie. sexy evening bar things. Women should take something sexier than they would first guess. Kathy always says " Next year remind me to take skimpier outfits." Remember "Nobody knows you, and nobody gives a S**t" is the theme of this place.
Hubby and I will be there December 1-8th... We were there in May of 2008 with a group of friends, but don't remember it being anything like everyone is describing here...Well, we did spend a majority of the time on excursions and out at clubs away from the resort though... This time, it's just hubby and I....just needing to get away from it all... I'm a extra curvy woman, so not sure how everyone there will respond to that...should I be scared? LOL! Should make for an interesting trip though, right?
Don't worry - there's tons of people here during your dates and a lot of us are curvy! Welcome back - you'll really enjoy TTR this time. I did one excursion last trip, and although it was fun, I felt like I was missing out on the fun at the pool!
