Hello All! Wowie what an amazing time... First off the people are what make this such a great spot... Had an excellent bunch of social people and the games were fun. Did some diving and 2 excursions to the island and Chichen Itza... Learnt never trust a mexican with tattoos on his face holding a ping pong paddle... lol. Anyways this will be my number one place to recommend to my friends and will be there again

Posted this in a different thread by mistake. opps This last week of work cannot go by fast enough. We are so looking forward to this trip. Looking forward to meeting everyone in the pool with Drinks in hand . We Land Dec 29th @ 4:10. Drinks soon to follow. One question. Found out friends of ours have decided to Drive to Cancun. Anyone have any helpful tips or words of caution that need to be passed on. Besides the obvious WTF? Why?
I hear you !! we only have 3.5 days left almost down to counting the hours.. We will keep an eye out for you on the 29th early evening. I can't tell you much about driving down, we thought about riding our bikes down... but after some of the things I've read wouldn't chance it, Cancun is one thing but its the rest of Mexico.. well that can be another. Bribery, vehicle seizure, jail... yeah no I don't think so.
Hi Maybe your friends needs to re-evaluate their trip, Sounds like a nice adventure but its a long trip. Depends which border point they prefer but I think the best option would be by Nuevo Laredo, Cancun is 27 to 30 hours from that City. At the most part they will drive through good roads, some good highways but certainly some roads would be not that good. I think that the most insecure part would be from Nuevo Laredo to San Luis Potosi. mmm..would be good too to avoid going through Mexico City. They will need to carry mexican money because these roads have many paying stations.
