I really feel sorry for your loss. Nobody goes on a trip expecting not to come home at the end of it. When you have had time to sit down and reflect on all that happened and how the hotel responded it would be great if you could share that. Good, bad, or ugly it would be interesting to hear. It may even educate some of us on how to react or what to expect should we ever find ourselves in the same situation when travelling.
It's true her name was Christine from metro Detroit area. I'm her sister and her funeral is Sat Jan 22. Go to RGGRHARRIS.COM to see for yourself. The resort has never made any attempt to contact us to offer condolences. The girl traveling w/my sister was shockingly mistreated and kept in the dark. She was told she had to stay in her room (they moved her twice I swear to God the resort were clearly trying to keep her under wraps) until the police got her statement. That never happened, they gave her back her passport and told her she should leave on her scheduled flt back to Detroit on Monday 01/21. When she went to checkout they had no recorn of her or my sister ever having been there. Please if you have any info to share please contact me at ycusmano@yahoo.com. Also for your own well being please let your friends/fellow members know what can happen. there was no care from hotel staff or EMT. A lady who is a nurse and another couple pulled her out and they started CPR, The nurse has advised us she had a pulse and was continuing with CPR. EMT arrived empty handed and told the nurse to step aside. All he did was put his head to her chest and pronounce her dead! She might have been saved if the hotel had trained staff (they all were in a panic) and equipment. For all we know the supposed EMT was the cook from the kitchen. Please correspond if you have anything to add. Thank you
This is the sister of "Lady who drowned" Her funeral is Sat 01/2 in Metro Detroit area. Haven't heard one word from the resort, but I can assure you they'll be hearing from us. The girl who was traveling with her advised she was moved to several different rooms and kept on ice so to speak until she went to checkout on her scheduled departure date of 01/22, Front desk had no record of her or my sister ever having been there, Go to RGGRHARRIS.COM to see Services for Christine on Jan 26. Hope all the businesses that depend on Temptations to provide their living have a backup plan
So sorry to hear that this happened, very unfortunate. Death happens every minute of every day all around the world whether its a accident, murder, war, natural causes ,etc. This will not deter us from travelling abroad or around the states and especially not TTR.
It is truly unfortunate that the assistance from the staff at TTR was not there for Christine when she needed it the most. Hopefully her death will allow them to train their staff for future accidents that may occur. I was not at TTR at the time of her accident but like many, I too have questions. Why was she alone? Did she slip and fall into the pool or was she swimming? Was she taken for an autopsy? What was the documented cause of death? And why did the EMT's arrive empty handed? Who knows what the requirements are in Mexico, they may have followed everything to their book, standards and laws. I'm sorry that the hotel has not contacted you or your family. And for the way Christine's friend was treated at a time she needed answers and comforting. It's puzzling? I took a look at the RGGRHARRIS.COM, Christine was just one year younger then I. She looks beautiful and appears to have been loved by many. Cherish your memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. God Bless
Sorry to hear for your loss. It is unfortunate that in this day and age offering condolences is like an admission of guilt and opens you up to law suites. You have a lot of unanswered questions , hopefully you will get them so you may move forward .
