Other thing re: baggage fees - if you are "just at" the limit going down, you will likely go over on the return. There's that funny little thing called humidity which might add on a couple of pounds to the baggage weight. Lucky for me, I have a 2 or 3 bag, 70lbs per bag limit. Or actually, lucky for my travel companions!
Yeah, we are flying out of Baltimore too ... we found it was the cheapest as well ... although we got non-stop and we arrive in Cancun around 9:30 am! Yeah!
At least you guys have options! Flying out of Hartford (unless I wanted to drive ~3 hours, and snow can be unpredictable then) there is only one direct flight per week, each Saturday. The times are good (leaves Hartford 9am, gets into CUN around noon) and return is not too early in the morning. However, it's on my least favorite US airline, Delta...
baltimore is almost 3 hrs from me! and omg i love Delta! They r my fav! Sorry to hear that you must have had bad experiences with them
