Hey! Maybe we should start a new group that goes on tripadvisor and writes a bunch of bad reviews to see if we can help our cause!!!!

I just booked through Orbitz for the first time... over $800 cheaper for 7 nights (included airfare, etc.) than Expedia. We're going the first week of April. Have used Expedia for most of my other trips... Good luck.

Last year we only paid approximately 2300.00 hotel/air for 7 days and this year we paid almost 2700.00 hotel/air for 9 days; however, we do have a layover, but it was worth it. Based on others comments, we are very pleased with what we paid, but very sorry to hear others are having to pay ridiculous rates. :icon_cry:

We booked in January for June. I'm glad we booked early because it already is more than last year, and the price keeps going up. They will be charging 5 star prices before too long at this rate.

I don't think it's just TTR. We are going to Xcaret in June, and the airfare is much higher than it's been for previous off-season trips. We booked three weeks ago, and the airfare has already gone up $58 per person.

We booked our March TTR flights in September and paid about $450. I checked the same flight at our six week mark because I heard that's the "magic" time to book. Glad I didn't wait...that same flight is now more than $900!

Anyone have info on Spirit airlines? Theyre about 150 less per ticket than any other company. I saw you have to pay for baggage but it still works out as a decent deal. Just wondering if anyone has info?

But of course.. I gotta say I have never paid more than $1k per person. Last year I paid $600 and $720. per person, air included. This trip $900pp with air. So when I say it's alot more it's still a lot less than what some people are paying.
    I'm a travel bargain psycho.
If they start charging over $150pp per night as a blanket rate than they should bring up the quality of the booze.. Like well stoli or absolute.. Lol Just my opinion

Spirit flies from TX too. We didn't book them because it wasn't much cheeper after you pay for luggage, plus we are racking up points with our regular airline to fly free at sometime. I haven't heard any reviews either. You might want to start a thread!!

I've used them a few times and their service is good. Most of the times they are a lot cheaper compared to the other airlines even when you add the bag fees. Keep in mind that your luggage has to be less than 40lbs (to avoid more cost) and they also charge you a fee if you have a carry on bag. No charge for backpack/small bag that would fit under the seat.

So, it's basically the same as any other airline, except you pay for luggage? It's not some cramped up flying cattle car? I usually fly US Air or united. But they are both over 600 a seat from Oregon. Spirits flying for 450. Any idea how much for bags?
