I have also used the Kioskes in our local mall (ottawa),, the fee was like less then 2% over posted rate .
CIBC was good to , and TD only had large bills .

yes it is wise to ask before ordering .

Thanks everyone, all good advice for people new to the resort.

That said what I'm looking for is the current exchange rate at the hotel (this will need to come from someone currently there).

So if some there sees this and could post the rates I'd be most appreciative :)

We just returned two days ago. On Dec 31 the exchange rate at TTR was 15.2 pesos/ US$. Just across the street there was an exchange company offering 16.1 pesos/US $.

    Hope this helps.

Yes this does help, thank you. You didn't happen to notice the Canadian rate did you? If not can someone else please post it.

    Thanks!

I plan on exchanging my cdn $ to pesos once I get to TTR. It has been a better deal than the cash rate I get at my Canadian bank for the last two TTR visits.

We used AAA to get pesos. They had a rate of 16.5 to 1, with no fees, and a two day turnaround time. Another good thing is that you can decide exactly what denominations you want to get. $500 US Dollars got us 8,280 in Pesos, with the largest bills being 200 pesos (about $12 US).
