I am not sure which teams will be contending. Not really sure how the Iowa Cubs are going to be able to stay in the race. Losing Lilly, Zambrano, Ramirez, Gorzelanny......................is making Lou's job pretty tough. Who is Jeff Samardzija?
Who is Jeff Samardzija was a football player for Notre Dame if you didnt know, he should have went pro, he would have been drafted in the top 10, but he also plays baseball. Hard pitcher, high 90's but not much control!
Top 10 is a bit of a reach, especially in that draft....Miami saw something they liked in Teddy Ginn at the 9 pick over what was believed to be Brady Quinn, so MAYBE if Jeff was there he could have went. Next closest receiver was Dwayne Bowe at 23 to Kansas City, so he probably would have gone there....hell of a two sport athlete though, I think in the long run he made the right choice, will probably have a longer career than if he played fooball, especially as a middle reliever. If he works on his control and adds a few key pieces to his arsenal he may be able to find himself in a closer role one day (God knows he can't be worse than Kevin Gregg :lol
The way the Yankees are playing..... I think this season is OVER!!! championchip # 27 is on its way!!!!!!!! Go Yankees!!!!!!!
Well Bart I wish I could blame the injuries but that is part of the game & the others just haven't stepped up. On a bright note, almost all of their remaining games are against sub-.500 teams. However I'm sure the Cardinals schedule is somewhat similar. Scott
Well since we are season ticket holders, we just got the bill for the playoff games and WS games.....GO PHILLIES....Another ring would be awesome!!!!!
Most of the rest of the schedule is within the division, and four of those teams are below .500. The Cards have an 8-game lead with 36 games to go. Sounds pretty easy, but they lost most of a bigger lead than that in 2006.
