    Thanks Chris,

Best currency to take from England is US dollars. When are you due to go?

I must respectfully disagree with the poster who suggested bringing US dollars. This is Mexico, pesos are the currency, why mess with USD? There are bank machines all over where they can withdraw pesos, just have them notify their bank that they will be using the cards out of country.

I wouldn't travel to the UK or Japan or Canada with USD, I don't understand why people come to Mexico with it. Use the local currency wherever you are.

I am with Canuck about the currency.
If you can budget it, I recommend you try to upgrade to the club rooms. If nothing else tell the honeymooners to try and get a room on tower 2 on a higher floor.
It is newer and a bit quieter at night.

We stayed at the Crown Paradise Club (I think for 5 February trips from 2000-2005) We loved it. We did take our kids (7 & 10 one year) - but opted for just the 2 of us the other years. We now go to Temptation for the adult only atmosphere but we enjoyed the CPC because at that time they did have adult area dining and an adult pool area - so you didnt have to trip over little kids. (not sure if they still offer that)

Great job to book them into the Adult Tower with the jacuzzi. Nicer rooms and quieter. We stayed in that tower/room type each year without the kids. We even had the honeymoon suite one year overlooking the ocean.

They will enjoy it. We felt the food was good. We are 'picky' eaters and had plenty to eat. Pool areas were nice and so was the beach. Met some very nice staff that had remembered us from year to year. We also have taken the jungle tour = where you can travel on 2 person speed boat across the lagoon and go snorkeling off the coast. Not a real long trip but gives you the experience.

    What a great present.

Each to their own on the currency to take there respected that Pesos are the currency but US dollars are accepted almost if not everywhere there and the prices on things to buy come with 2 prices on Mexican pesos and also US dollars. But to be honest for example if you change £1000 into Mexican pesos you are going to receive 20,800 and if you change £1000 into US dollars you will receive $1,599. Which will be the easiest and most convenient to manage? 20,800 or 1,599? We are due to go back to Crown Paradise in October last time we went there was in August 2006. We also had one of the club rooms and were well impressed with everything there so you will have nothing to worry about. When they arrive at the hotel and see the queue's to check in they will get taken to express check in desks as they are in the club rooms. They will love it and everything about it, we also got a trip once a week with us being in the club rooms on the Cancun Queen boat and as far as I know this does still apply.

Also using credit cards makes the adjustment for you, no need to figure out the exchange. I am one for just using US currency, mostly for tipping, but the last few times I have been exchanging.. Your money will go allot farther by exchanging it

Could anyone tell me if they have updated the in room safe there as last time we went was 2006 and we had to carry a key around all the time on a piece of string, is this still the case?

    Thanks for the info
