We took Max to the Crococun Zoo yesterday and had a great time! If you haven't heard of it, it's an interactive zoo near Puerto Morelos. It's a beautiful place in the jungle, not too big but certainly interesting. We held crocodiles, snakes and huge iguanas, fed the wild monkeys that come to visit and fed the deer. I personally think it's a total bargain. You get a personal tour guide who gives a lot of great info on the animals. I think it took a bit more than an hour to go through the whole place. $17 USD adults, $11 for kids 6-12, kids under 6 are free. You can buy fruit to feed the animals for a buck. (Locals get a 30% discount). http://www.crococunzoo.com/ Here are a couple of pics.... Here's the whole album.... http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery.fcgi?p=12&gid=14516969
Can't you see my heart pounding out of my chest with the snake??? There's another pic of me with a boa around my neck, I thought I might die but I wasn't going to pass up the chance. Max was brave, except he didn't want to hold the crocodile, poor baby. He LOVED feeding the deer.
Muchas Gracias ! I'm adding this to my list of "things to do" when I take my niece to Cancun this summer.
Wow looks like a great place. I always thought from the front it was another tourist "Dive". I am relly glad you cleared that up. My son will be here this month and now I have another place to take him. I guess it just goes to show. "You can't judge a book by it's cover"
