Coming to Cancun just for a game? Who would do that? He's coming to see his baby girl... on his birthday around a sport he loves, and has always missed the season when he comes. So if anyone is interested in going to the game on the 26th, to help Papa brown celebrate, lets get some people together and enjoy the last game of the regular season. WHO'S IN???
The new USA relief pitcher, Sean Gleason, seems to be off to a good start. He's now got one win against no losses, with two saves, and an ERA of just 1.26. He looks like a good addition to the team, just before the run for the championship begins in earnest. Friday night Jose Miguel Ramirez will be pitching, and I don't think I've ever seen him in a game: he has a 9-1 win loss record, and an ERA of just 2.16, which is lower than that of Bobby Cramer, at the time he left us for greener pastures. Both tonight, and tomorrow night, games start at 8 PM. Be there! The choripan are better than ever, the beer cold, as usual.
It wasn't one of the greatest nights for Miguel Ramirez, who lasted just four innings and left the game with two men on base; but, in the end, his teammates delivered a 4-3 win in the eleventh inning, thanks in part to great throws from deep left field by Douglas Clark, preventing extra runs and extra bases, and the 5-4 hitting of Jaime Trejo, who also contributed with a perfectly executed squeeze play. The Tigres got just one run in the seventh, to trail 3-2, then one in the eighth to tie: it took to the eleventh for them to put it away, finally. This game included a rare, in the park home run by Alex Romero. Tigres play again tonight, at 7 PM. http://tigresqr.com/2011/
Tigres won another close game last night, pulling it off with an 8th inning rally. I went alone but ran into a few friends and somehow ended up at La Taberna Del Sol until way too late. V, is Mrs V awake yet after her around the world flight? Obviously not. LOL
Tigres swept the series with the Olmecas with a 2-1 win last night to maintain a 3 and a half game lead in their division over Veracruz. In the same game, Sean Gleason got his third save since joining the team. Tigres now have just three home games left this season, the 24-26th of July against Ciudad del Carmen. You won't want to miss these....
V, I stopped by to check on my incorrectly sized shirt and they will trade it out next week. I went into the stadium at the top of the 8th and we were up 2-0. Gleason was looking good but I did not see his better half. The Olmecas picked up a late run to make it interesting but El Bombero Jr put out the fire. I did manage to make one purchase from Sr. Gordito.
TJ you're right to raise questions about it The calendar that comes up on the official website for the Tigres when you click on it may not be completely accurate For example it shows the Tigres playing away games against Veracruz but the game against Veracruz tonight at 7:30 PM is here in Cancun- Beto Avila Stadium I can't reconcile the differences myself
