I’m down 43 lbs on keto, the wife although not doing strictly keto is down 5. She really can’t loose to much, but I could still loose another 20.

If I can do it...so can all of you! Though it's been a while since I made the decision to get in shape, I've been extremely happy to not have relapsed...as I've heard many do. While there are many pill's and diet's, I feel that it's more down to education (learning what proper portion sizes are, getting an idea of nutritional value, and having an idea of how much work it'll take to burn that cookie I want) and a lifestyle change (smaller and more frequent meals, not having to be a "clean plater" as our parents ingrained since kids, trying to get foods with more nutrition, etc). Keep it simple...calories in, calories out. However, everybody is different and what works for one might not for another.

My decision for change was made Christmas of 2011 at the age of 22 when I stepped on the scale for the first time in a long time and read 298. I believe the exact words at the time were to the effect of "f*** that -- it is NOT going to hit 300".

Inspired by two friends who also had significant losses (one of which whose family was a winner on NBC's Biggest Loser TV show), I got to work. Took it slow and over the coarse of about a year I was able to take off 130 pounds.

While I thought that losing weight and getting in shape would solve all my problems such as self-esteem and dating/relationships from a very hard childhood full of bullying at school and home...unfortunately is not the case and something that I'm still trying like hell to conquer to this day...hence trips to TTR where you all are so cool and accepting. So, while I try to not appear as a creeper, this history makes it very hard for me to step out of my comfort zone, initiate conversation, and socialize. That being said...I love meeting new folks, just have a hard time breaking the ice...so PLEASE say "hi" in the sexy pool come July! Or better yet, bring a unicorn along with ya. haha!

Similar to my friends who inspired me, I'm hopeful that I can return the favor to somebody else who needs it. Happy to discuss more here or PM if needed.
