Costco gets our vote, too. Cheaper, faster, easier than Island Optical...when is the boycott lifted on Costco?
I boycotted Costco for about 6 months after they wanted to double charge for a renewal... in the end though you just have to realize its not the store, its the stupid, idiot, a$$hole people working at the store.. you know, the same ones that reach for the calculator to figure the change on 50 pesos when the total due is 45... :icon_eek: and sadly, Costco seems to be one of the few places with good quality products for us spoiled Americans so as with most things here it's take it or leave it. PS: During my boycott, we had demanded a refund of the membership fees, which we got, then 6 months or so later, when we decided to suck it up and pay again, we found out that our cards had never been canceled, so we ended up getting 6 months of the year for free anyway.. ( and could have had the whole year had we known) thanks to their incompetence.. so.. :icon_rolleyes:
The short story of our boycott is that they accused my future father in law of trying to steal pizza, even though he's been a loyal customer for years. That was a fun night maybe some day when I have time I'll post the whole story, or blog about it. It's a great example of the horrible customer service there, even on an upper-management level.
Sounds about right. They refused us permission to park in their lot while evacuating from hurricane Dean in 2007 so we went next door to Mega with a few other camioneros (we were pulling a trailer).
