If the prices go up significantly they are likely to price out a significant portion of their clientele........or stays are going to be shortened....... .and beds vacant.
I'm guessing it's because the new year is drawing closer and everyone gets anxious as to what the new year is going to bring. Just my thought on the matter.
Didn't someone get kicked off the forum several weeks ago for starting a rumor that affected if people booked or not! I'd take all of this with a grain of salt. My husband and I travel a lot, and even though we've only been to TTR once and are booked again for January, TTR can't afford to close down for an extended period. A forced closure due to a hurricane was covered by insurance, so that's not comparable. I'm sure they were covered to some degree to compensate for loss of revenues from a hurricane. TTR had to be able to be competitive in the CANCUN market. Word has it that several other resorts are starting to look at copying TTR's format. They can't afford to let their investment sit and fall behind. I would imagine that they will accommodate all of their patrons with discounted rates during the construction. That's my 2 cents!!!!!
We did the TS presentation last week (I know to take anything they say with a grain of salt) Also, to note we did not buy the membership. They 'threatened us' with rates of $4000-$5000/week. Nikki
I thought it was because Steve said there was going to be an announcement coming very soon on Facebook today?
good luck with that ,, even if they build a 5 * resort,, you can't invent a decent beach , or take away the 2 surrounding marinas ,, those rates would attract a different clientele and kill the resort with a bunch of rich yuppies demanding a happy ending for 5g.
