I plan on bringing my family to Cancun after x-mas, like Decemeber 27th till the January 3rd. I know this is a long ways to go, but its never too early to start checking prices. I have checked out a couple of websites, and the prices are really expensive. Where can I check for condos in Cancun, I have searched the web is their any other places to check? - Thanks!

You are not starting too early.

Christmas and New Years Weeks are the most desired (and expensive) weeks to be in Cancun.

What makes it tougher (in your instance) is that your planned timing crosses into both weeks. (Most timeshare rentals in Cancun run Saturday to Saturday, which for this year, means Week 51=Dec 22 to 29 and Week 52=Dec 29 to Jan 5.)

You can expect to pay a minimum of $1000 (and up) for accommadations (only - not AI) in the Hotel Zone for either of these weeks. Airfare will also be at a premium.

All of that being said, they are - as the prices would indicate - the best weeks you can have there, for many good reasons.

You DO have one possible option if you want to go on the cheap during that time since you're getting started so early, but BE AWARE this one is like handlng nitroglycerine :blueshock: . There are timeshare outfits which will 'give' you 4-5 days of premium timeshare lodging for free (actually for the cost of the tax) if you're willing to sit through a 90 minute (= 5 hours of real time) exposure to the slickest and most persistent (bordering on agressive) sales people this world has ever known. That 5 days could be timed so that you only spend your own money for 1 of the 2 premium weeks instead of both. I'm not going to suggest you use this solution in conjunction with reducing the length of your stay because the timeshare salespeople will completely blow away one of your days.
