Questions: 1) Are there many single couples there? A1: That seems like an oxymoron, but I think I catch your intent. You're asking if couples, not associated with huge groups on CCC go down there. Actually, the CCC folks are a minority as to who gets to TTR, so that's not a problem. Every time we've gone, we find people who are there for the first time, traveling as a couple for their first time. That'll be no problem, meeting people "not in groups." That being said, even if you do go when there is a large percentage of organized group visiting going on, its very inclusive, meaning, they are open and inviting. 2) Sounds and looks like a lot of single drunken males traveling in packs. A2: Not so many as may be expected, though the 1 group of 3-4 in a group of 50 who are otherwise coupled-up seems to be a lot, especially when they figure out that that TTR isn't the best place to go when you are single, unless you know how TTR works and don't expect anything. 3) Do they play music or that whump, whump techno stuff really loudly? A3: When we went in February, there was too much techno at Patyo's at night, and the DJ couldn't seem to get away from it. In April, it was different, more rock, Top 40, and quite a bit of classic rock, actually, with a live band one night that was pretty good. 4) Is the quiet pool quiet...topless? A4: Is the quiet pool quiet, or topless? Which? Both, actually. Toplessness is endemic at TTR, but the quiet pool is actually pretty quiet, nearly somnolent in comparison with the Sexy Pool at times, still, there's lots of people who have a great time there at TTR doing nothing at the Sexy pool the entire time.
my husband cant stand it either.. we go back and forth from the quiet pool to the sexy pool or the beach when we have had enough.. well, when he has had enough.. lol i don't mind it .. it only gets a bit much by the end of the day sometimes..but that's nap time for us.. lol , I think there is great dance music at night if you like to party.. and they do mix it up a bit at patyos :icon_wink:
One of the highlights of Temptations is the variety of people. The Sexy pool is big enough to accommodate the drinkers and the book readers. If you need to get away from the pool music you can grab a beach bed or chair and still be close to the Sexy pool. And if you need solace head to the quiet pool. We are a pair of Jimmy Buffet parrotheads and the music has never bothered us. Everytime we go there it is a different mix of people. An experience that will get you talking. If you are still undecided a wee bit of advice. Know your limit and play within it.
Temptations will be the best vacation you will ever have! After Temptations, all other resorts seem boring!
Sorry, I'm not hep on loud thump, thump music. Looks like the only way people 'dance' to this noise is by jumping with their arms in the air. Too old here for that.
well, i think that there has been a lot of repeaters that have tried to sooth your concerns.. it is true that this resort is not for everyone.. we don't stress over the resort it is not a 5 star or even a 4 start resort but its about the friendly open minded out going awesome people that go there.. that makes us all go back.. something a bit more calm is Golden Parnassus . we went there for 3 days after TTR to rest and we liked it for what we were looking for.. a rest and a little relaxation.. lol it is adult only and top less although not many were topless in April.. but the beach was awesome the food was good and the rooms while they were not special a room on the ocean side has an amazing view....
No longer called House music - we call it EDM now as it incorporates all the genres (techno, house, trance, dubstep) Electronic dance music - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia & I still miss Detroit Techno. To the original posters: if you want to relax find a different resort like the GP, Temptations is for a upbeat lively crowd who wants to party and relive their frat party days. You will have a miserable time if you want to sit back and relax - there are plenty of other clothing/topless optional resorts that cater to the relaxed vibe. We will admit, the drunken frat party atmosphere does get a bit tiring if you don't join in the revelry. We hear great things about Desire from the older crowd, we're not ready for that step yet so we're sticking with Temptation.
Little Rain I have stayed at GP and Temptations. Check out the comparison threads on the GP page; they are very good. I liked the beach and food better at GP but the party atmosphere is better at TTR. You might try staying at GP and getting a day pass at TTR or going on the Boobs Cruise to get more of the flavor of TTR. You don't have to be staying at TTR to go on Steve's Boobs Cruise and it is tons of fun.
We recommend trying TTR especially if your planning on making your first trip a short one. You'll be pleasantly surprised on how much fun you'll have and how many nice people you'll make friends with. As for the loungers around the quiet pool, they aren't as hard to get like the ones around the sexy pool. you can actually get one mid morning without an issue usually.
