Coco Bongo and other clubs: When does Temptations go?

Staff will try to stick you up on one of the balconies as a VIP, which is supposed to be a good thing because you have a table. Not a good place to be, as JamieNwife says. You want to be on the floor to really appreciate the show. Plus it's hot up on the tiered areas circling the outer edges of the room. It's like a stadium in CCB, with tiered areas ("balconies") and the floor. Even if you are not VIP, they will stick you on the tiered areas, just in a worse spot than the VIP's have. You can't just head for the floor yourself, you are assigned a spot.

What we have done in the past is bought a regular admission, then slipped the usher $20 and asked to be taken down onto the floor as soon as we get there. No problem, we are taken to a prime spot beside the bullpen bar. No need to pay VIP to be invited up onto the bar. I've spent the whole night up there every time I've been to CCB (best place to see the show) and never bought the VIP package. I've also been taken up on stag, to the little balcony above centre stage, and been part of the Beetlejuice number just by virtue of being on the bar (and wearing a sexy dress and high heels, no doubt). There ARE some tables on the floor, but you don't need a table at CCB...just hold your drink in your hand. Remember you will be standing for several hours, so wear heels that won't kill your feet.

Another bonus of being on the bar is that when you are up there, the bartenders hand up shots to you all night (more that you actually should be drinking), so no need to buy drinks. Of course, only ladies on the bar, so the men have to stay on the floor and buy their own drinks (sorry guys). We used to leave TTR at 10 pm to go to CCB, and I think the show started at 11 pm, so lots of time to fuel up at TTR, and you can coast if you want while at CCB.

If you want on the bar, head for the steps at the rear of the bullpen as soon as they start ushering women up there. The bar fills up fast with college girls in shorts and bare feet, so be quick to get a spot. Wearing a sexy dress helps ensure room will be made for you. The rest of your group can stand right beside you on the floor to keep an eye on you. You'll be escorted down at various points in the show, as they cover the bar and use it for a stage for awhile. Stay nearby and you can get back up again once the boards are removed to convert the bullpen back to a bar.

Up on the bar is actually the safest place for women, as there are always some creepy dudes that can cause trouble at CCB if you don't keep an eye on your woman. Always escort your lady to the washroom, and guys should keep a watch over all the ladies in your group. Don't be discouraged from going to CCB because of this, but remember, you are in Mexico, so don't be clueless.

Last tip: If you prefer not to have your arse exposed for all to see, wear a dress that is snug around the thighs. There are air cannons built into the top of the bar and if you have a sundress on and they blast the air cannon, you can guess what happens.
