Tipping? TIP!!!!! The STAFF you wont regret it! The main source of income for people working at the resort is tipping. SO TIP!!!!!! Tip the bartenders at least 60 Pesos per day at the pool and 40 to 60 in the evening as well at the bar. Tip your waiters 10 to 20 per person per meal. TIP your room attendant(maid) 20 to 60+ per day depending on how much of a pig you are. She will also take you requests for your fridge refills much more seriously....... for that. Since we hang out at the sports bar most of the time we just drop 40 in the tip jar at the beginning of the night. We tipped Pablo 140 our last night as we had lots of pesos left. I still have 60 left and I am going to tip our van driver with those when we get to the hotel this trip. I have worked at hotels and resorts and believe me everyone you tip will do you little favors here and there to keep the cash flowing. Our tip budget for this 12 day trip is 500 US and worth every penny.....
we always tip the bar staff every day and last time we went we took some manchester united footy shirts with Hernandez(mexican player who plays for mu) on them for the bar staff that looked after us the year before they love him over there
They will fill up any mug you give them. We had a couple people in our group with 52 oz bubba mugs and they filled them with no problems. Ours were 32 oz and they filled several times daily.
