They would be hard put to find natural-born Mexican citizens who could answer those questions "correctly."
I asked my muchacha this morning. She knows the anthem, the kids have to sing it, it is written in their books, and some other answers, not all. The interesting part is when they (local, born, Mexicans) travel to go to their pueblo by bus or car, they have to pass a test to be able to go there. She says it is because many foreigners (she didn't talk about Americans, but more Guatemalans), can get a forged credencial. So maybe that's why the law changed...
My Mexican husband is pretty good with these questions, he would pass the Mexican Citizenship test. I am certain I would not a pass the US Citizenship test. My husband can name more state capitals in the US than I can. The most important thing I ever learned was how to do research, if I need to know I look it up. I not good at, nor do I see merit in, rote learning.
For all who are interested in the mexican citizenship: you can find the catalogue of 100 cuestions on the official website of SRE (its all in spanisch) http://www.sre.gob.mx/tramites/nacionalidad/guia_estudio.pdf The autorithies are only allowed to make 5 questions from these 100. You need to answer 4 of 5 correctly. A discussion thread (in spanish) is here: http://www.mexicolegal.com.mx/consultas/r119881.htm and the answers for the 100 questions are here: http://www.divshare.com/download/4590784-9d1
