My point was not to give in place of money but to add it on. It's such a rare treat for them its just a nice thing to do.
I dont know what store you paid $6 at for a candy bar, they must have smiled when you left. You can get a pack of Reese Cups at Walmart for less than a dollar. I know because I am addicted to them and brought them back to Temptations last year to put in my semi cool (definetely not cold) refrigerator. If you see something marked 6 or 7 or 8 pesos it is less than a dollar. The 3 musketeers was marked $6 at Mexican stores that is about 60 cents or so in US money. In the Mexican store the dollar sign really means pesos. I think you should leave the candies at home and just ride the bus to Walmart when you get there. I think if you tipped the workers they would rather have a dollar than a candy bar.
Again not in replace of money just as a little something extra for them. They will not spend the money on things like choclate when they need so many other things. This is just a really nice thing to do for someone. STILL TIP WITH MONEY
We have always brought large Austrian chocolate bars which we get for $1.29 at Aldys to give the maid- one every other day + tips. In response, they've always treated us great!!
Nope, they were about 600 pesos.....$6 (actually a little less). The bag of m&m's at the duty free shop in the airport had the price of $15.50 in US dollars marked on it. The Kit Kat at the duty free was something like $13.00 (it was pretty big, but not $13.00's big . We never went to Walmart....but chocolate is a very big indulgence and a treat for them......
