Went there April 12, and had a great time. Won't lie- was "freakin" hot. Rained and then sun came out....... HUMID!!!! Bring a hat for sure, good walking shoes and an umbrella, if you can, (to keep sun off of you) Sun screen for sure too!! Went with the company Entertainment Plus, recommended by Steve, and they were GREAT!! Would do it again (hubby not so sure- like I said- was HOT.) VERY educating and interesting. It does take all day (left hotel at 8 am and didn't get back until 7 pm) but was worth it. Comfy ride and air conditioned. Good lunch too. Just my opinion. Hope this helps.

my advice is don't go!!! Chitzen Itza is hot and the bus ride there is even hotter! Once you get there, there is not a whole lot to see. Really research it and make sure it something you really want to see before you go.

GET THERE AS SOON AS IT OPENS BEFORE THE TOUR BUSES ARRIVE!!! I've been to Tulum, Chichen Itza, Coba, Ek Balam, Palenque, Mitla, Monte Alban, and a few more that I can't remember. I always show up first thing in the morning, and you pretty much have the whole place to yourself (along with a few others sometimes). It's so quiet, not as hot, and you can hear the jungle. I'm usually leaving around 10-10:30 when the buses roll in and it looks like Disney World. It's just not the same with all the turistas running around. Actually, maybe the all the people make Chichen Itza seem more like the big city it used to be.
