People either know how to act or they don't. With age comes maturity...usually. I'd rather hang with a single guy who knows how to act than a married guy who doesn't.
I have just been watching this thread for a while and feel the need to add one point. First want to say I like having singles there. I enjoy different perspectives, dont like rules and my opinion is the resort is fine with singles and as pointed out most are behaved. I could just go to another resort if I wanted couples only. And the solution is not to ban singles. Just my opinion. But in reality I dont think my opinion or anyones on here really matters (when it comes to the singles being allowed debate). It seems to be lost in the debate that Original Resorts is running a business. So if I was in charge of the business I would do what puts that business in the best shape. The more people that go to an AI resort the better shape my business is in. Why would I want to cut out a big portion of my business by not allowing singles? The answer is I wouldnt unless it got to the point that I was losing more business to couples than I was gaining by having the singles. And 90+% of the people on here upset about the singles still plan on going back. End result is Original Results wants as many people to come to the TTR concept resort as possible which means keep the singles. Try to limit the big groups in the UK thru messaging so I dont lose too many couples. But no way do I cut out a big source of income. The counter argument to this logic could be well why did TTR Cabo switch to couples? And I think this point was made. It really switched to Desire, which is a couples only concept. With the switch to Desire, Original Resorts can charge more and they make more money than what they lose with singles. Or at least that was the theory. Not sure if it worked due to the occupancy issues mentioned above. You put this all together and it seems pretty clear to me. 1) Stay TTR concept and keep singles, try to minimize via messaging large groups from UK. or 2) Switch to Desire concept, charge more. I really think the answer is 1 as it sounds like Desire Cabo has not worked out but what really drives this stuff is Original Resorts bottom line. TTR Cancun seems to be doing well so hopefully everything we all have come to love remains.
Lots of good points in there! I can't see how changing TTR to a Desire type place would really do much for them. 1) It's right in Cancun, the clothing optional aspect of Desire requires relative isolation from those walking along the beach. I remember reading somewhere that Mexican law frowns on toplessness but is generally ignored for resorts, full nudity in a large city where often families walk past on the beach doesn't seem like it would work well. 2) Being in Cancun itself lends itself to more barhopping etc. out of the resort 3) From what I've been told Desire resorts tend to be smaller and more intimate. TTR is smaller than say a Riu type place but does the market really exist to cater to 3 clothing optional couples only resorts in a relatively small geographical area?
J&K - Great thoughts - So Temptation Cabo was originally a Desire Resort - it changed over due to a family resort being built right next door and the zoning changed. Lots of privacy fences are at Cabos now as they finally were able to zone it back to Desire theme. In that time, all the customers started to head to RM which meant Desire RM was sold out a lot. Original Resorts gets a 5yr option to Lease & run Pearl not long after opening Cabos Desire back up so lots of availability. Its taking time for Cabos to get its clientele back - many people book 6-12 months out with groups, now those groups are heading back to Cabos so occupancy is going back up. Week we were at Cabos Temptation it was 100% sold out on a few nights, them changing it over to Desire meant all the people who enjoyed Temptation but not Desire now go to Cancun - hence the increased demand in Cancun. We would have never gone to Cancun if it wasnt for the change-over as Cabos is a 3hr shorter and much cheaper flight plus we loved the resort. Either way we will continue to go, couples or singles, its all good fun and the concept is O-R's to play with. With all of the sell outs Feb - May, I would expect price increases next spring as demand is certainly increasing.
If they do switch over to all couples, I say all us singles get together and open our own resort for singles only over 30! :icon_biggrin:
Just received this reply.... Dear Mrs. Gallant I really appreciate your valuable comments and I would like to tell you than I understand your concern but, as you know a rumor is a rumor, far from being a truth, Tempation remains an adult hotel. Let me tell you that any change we make in a future, we are going to inform in our oficial site www.originalresorts.com Regards ANA G. It sounds to me like you were unfortunate enough to be there when there happened to be rude, loud and inconsiderate people there. I've met a few of those on my trips as well, however, they were part of a 'couple'. There will be rude people everywhere and they aren't all single. As for you thinking they should only allow couples 'and a small amount of single guys', I'm slightly offended but that is your preference lol
