Consider how many single members that they have. Now imagine the problems they'd have with refunds or lawsuits should they decide to say singles aren't welcome anymore. It wouldn't be pretty and they know it.
I think they are at this point playing with the wording.. what I have been seeing is adults & couples only to perhaps put off the single groups.. because if i was a bachelor party or spring break group looking for a resort.. all I would see here is "couples only" and move on. I agree with Keith.. membership bought.. cant go to Desire.. TTR goes couples only.. where does that leave them.. the family resort?.. right.. they are gonna send the singles to their family resort.. lol
Someone mentioned a 25 y/o age limit.... I think that's spot on for what may be needed. Insurance companies use 25 ( or after) to drop their rates, I'm sure they've spent tons of money to research it already.
I'd be on board with only 25+ but can't see that happening. They like to advertise and attract hot young couples around 21-year age. In the promotional TTR online pictures and brochures not one model looks a day over 22! End of the day, I've seen it happen numerous times before where company says X isn't happening, then they make big announcement when contracts are signed. Sometimes it's a legal obligation. Whether or not TTR is changing, asking outright hasn't a chance in hell of getting an honest answer until formalities (whatever they may be) are in place. We're all going to have to wait this one out, and hope that it's just a rumour.
Good point Trish. Hopefully they'll test the waters with some sort of solution that isn't too drastic for all singles.
I think they are by telling people in the UK that there are no single men allowed. This makes sense seeing as I'm told that some agencies in the UK have told people it is a great place for singles to party.
Hi where from the UK and off in October the travel shop told us its for over 21s and and adults only. we only found out it might be couples only off here.
Just was reading this thread....i'm hoping they don't banned single guys from going to TTR....It would be somewhat upsetting!! :icon_cry: I have been going to BBG/TTR for 7 years as a "One Man Wolf Pack" ! I have met tons of AWESOME friends while there! I'd hate to lose that... As everyone knows...There is NO resort like TTR any where in the world. I understand the need to stop the large groups of guys..And I agree with that but please don't throw me in with that group.
I'm in favor of allowing singles...I've met too many cool solo travelers from all over to think otherwise. The official answer seems to be that things will stay as they are. There is definitely misinformation and confusion out there though. Yesterday I got a Facebook update from Temptation with a photo album with the following caption... "This album is about some of the most happy and tempting moments at your adults and couples only resort in Cancun!" My opinion is that they're promoting TTR as couples only but not officially making it couples only. The desired effect might be to limit singles...expecially large groups of them. I could be wrong, but it seems to explain the conflicting messages.
