Actually they pile up of the chairs when the pool close. Then they wash the deck down and at 6.30am that start etting them around the pool...
This applied in April 2012 & october 2012... I don't think this has changed much.
I love the new umbrellas they just got.It was about time!

I have posted on this subject several times. It always has been and probably always will be the only complaint I have about TTR. We are early risers and we stay up when we get up. At 6 or 7 we are lucky to find chairs. I agree that it peeves me off to watch a group of chairs sit unoccupied for hours.

We are up early and appreciate use of a chair from around 8am until pool opens. Once pool opens I'm usually in the drink or otherwise occupied so don't need a chair.

Only bothered to reserve a chair once, then stashed our stuff with other CCC's chairs.

I'd prefer to see a system where if you're not in a 'reserved' chair by 11am when the day is definitely in full swing then you lose the right to reserve that chair.

If you get to know Cancuncare people on the forum and hook up with them, there will always be a place to put your stuff while you are in the pool if you don't have a chair - I have found so many great friends through this forum, and hanging out at TTR with them has been some of the best times of my life!! Everyone was willing to share their space, as we were when we actually reserved chairs (if we got our asses out of bed early enough).

You can't get a resort towel super early in the morning, I don't think they give them out until after 7am or even later. You can risk your own stuff on a chair to reserve it, people will put shirts over the back, but the duh factor is to be sure it is something you that don't care is stolen. I really wanted one of those shirts I saw on chairs that said something like, "this is my chair and don't fuck with it"

Most of the time, we were in the sexy pool, not sitting outside. I just wanted a place to put my bag. It was so hot that I couldn't stand being out of the water most of the time ;-) Coming from Seattle, it doesn't take much to feel hot!! When we go in January, I hope the weather here is just as bad as it was before our last January trip, was blissful to be in the sun and heat after the horrible ice storm, 4-day power loss, and frigid temperatures!! Oddly, we met a lot of people from Canada that trip, I wonder why - lol!!

Anyway, take home point, hook up with Cancuncare people and get a system set up with the group for chairs and you are set for the trip!!

This is a sore subject.. It seems that 80% of the chairs that get reserved hardly get used and just sit there empty (save for a towel) most of the day. On the other hand, there are people who would like to actually sit in a chair and chill but are unable to, because all the chairs are 'taken'. I wish there was a solution.

We mostly ended up 'sharing' chairs with folks we met at the resort (J3 I'm looking at you). Tam and I only used the chairs to eat and to hide the flip flops from the sun. Once we got in the pool we left for dinner and afternoon delight

Don't put anything on the chair before 630 am or security will take it. If your there when I am you can always share mine. After all I hardly sit there. just holds my stuff. If you go in April then you have a Vince then all is good.

Last December in Cabo there was no saving chairs period. That was a little annoying when we wanted a chair and then wanted to run eat breakfast and come back. But I agree that if you're not going to use your chair all day, don't reserve one. We only take them if we are going to use them. On that note, we are visiting 1st week of Dec - 1st time to TTR Cancun. We don't get up early to reserve chairs so I'm assuming we won't get chairs by the sexy pool. But it looks as if the beach is very close to sexy pool. Are there usually chairs on the beach available close to the pool or do they get taken as well?

That's what we did. We always found a good spot on the beach close
enough to the pool to hear the action and show up in time to watch
the mayhem! Plus if you wanted/needed a break, there you are!
    Enjoy your trip!

When we reserve a chair we use it and pretty frequently. If anyone wants to use it when we are not there, feel free, just don't move our stuff, that's just rude. If it's hot and we don't get a chair, we stash our stuff with others.

They could impose a rule where if you are not in your chair for an hour, you lose it (like many hotels do) and give you 2 hours during the lunch period. We went to Hawaii this past summer and this was the policy at the Hilton we stayed at.

But then people will complain about that too...
