    check mexitel cellular (mexitel.net)
    the prices they show on their site are prices the locals pay - way better than AT&T and such, but here's the kicker,
    we used them last summer and got 20 minute calls to the US and Canada for 1$, total cost. I checked and there was no mistake - they dont advertise it but if you ask for it you'll get it. calls to other Mexitel phones BTW - 50 cents/20 minutes
    you still have to buy the telcel cards to get the minutes, but a $10 card lasts all week

    Is this a calling card or a SIM card I can place in my phone?

    its neither LOL its a phone.
    they send it to you and it works already when youre picking up your baggage so you can call whoever is picking you up to make sure they know youre there.
    and its good to call others that travel with you (if they have them) so you dont have to constantly watch them or wonder where their at

    Wow..their website sure looks really cheesy. You sure they can be trusted??

    yeah, they're actually nice

    and the phones work great, everywhere you go

    Alright I will think about it. I do like using my own cell phone though.
