I've decided to take an old world flip phone and forward husband's SIII cell # to my cell number. I will put my SIM in flip phone and add a small international voice/text package for 1 phone (since the other phone is forwarded). That way, I don't have to worry about email, facebook, twitter, etc. syncing or if I didn't turn off all data.
Yep, you get it for free then. It is only for one device though which is lame. Unlocking your phone, and getting a Telcel sim card is a better deal if you have to pay for it. If your phone can work as a hotspot then you can have that one sim but use both peoples phones, or fire up the laptop and have full use while the wife is getting ready or to check in to flights. Also for calling just use skype or googlevoice to make calls over the wifi if you need to. Put a few bucks on your account for the calls before you go an it makes it super cheap. One time we tried to stay another day or two, and had to call our bank back home to allow the charge cause it wasn't going thru. Tried the collect number on the back of the card, but it wasn't working. On checkout I found that EACH ATTEMPT for a collect call even had something like a 5 dollar fee. So for never getting thru to anyone I had a wonderful 50 dollar bill. Ended up using skype to get it to all happen.
Does anyone know what time the pirate bar opens? I like to do my work in the am while hubby is sleeping. I wouldn't mind a walk down there (it is where the Isla ferry leaves from, correct?) Have a drink, so some work, wait for the hubs, sounds like a great plan. ~Jess
We change our plan with Verizon to their anytime Canada/Mexico plan before we go and our rate stays the same. texts are like 25 cents to send and 5 cents to receive so no big deal. I had to take a business call last time down and talked for a couple hours and it cost me the same as here in the U.S..
We have Sprint does anyone know if it will work for us. Sprint does not have Mexico for international calling.
I have Verizon but I didn't know they had Mexico/Canada plan. Do I just call customer service to make the switch? Can I do it online? How much does it cost?
