Thanks Jamie! I've done this for my home number and got word of the cell phone thing and then registered it. It works well! It turns out a very good friend of mine helps manage this list and one thing he said is to file complaints with them. They want to know when folks violate it. -Katie
not a bad idea to register your cell phones, but i have heard a couple news reports saying that this is more of an urban legond than truth. legally, telemarketers are not allowed to call cell phones, according to the news i saw.
Thing to remember is that there are a lot of services starting up like Cricket in Denver that are cell phones that act as home phones. So cell phones staying out of the mix won't happen forever. Jamie
HIJACK ALERT: Sorry couldn't resist this one.... Speaking of urban legends, take a peek at this "undetermined" one. http://www.snopes.com/photos/risque/queen.asp OK...carry on folks!LOL! Michelle
As to the original post an this being an urban legend, here is the skinny: http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/cell411.asp Michelle
Has turned out to by a myth that the telemarketers will begin calling 1/1/05 but, it never hurts to list your number in anticipation of the day they will begin calling. Jamie
