Love the idea of happy hour. Not ever being at the resort I have no idea what I’m talking about. But I think with travel and all most people dont get to the resort till afternoon time and it’s always a good thing to meet people the first day you arrive. How about a later meet up time and maybe at the quiet pool it’s a little easier to recognize people in a smaller group than in a pool full.

By all means it could be set up at anytime. I just threw out noon daily jokingly. I just know that since I do not wear a watch I would lose track of time to go meet elsewhere. Most when they get there, especially during the daytime arrivals, they b-line for the sexy pool since that is where most of the fun is. Still. A great idea to set up!
Great idea. On our last trip one couple posted that they wanted to meet others and told everyone on this site what day they would be in and asked everyone who wanted to meet them to be at the bar by the sexy pool at 5pm. They came in the day after us so the next day my wife and I went down there at 5pm. It had rained all that day but we went down to the bar thinking no one would be there. They were there along with two other couples from this site. We ended up hanging out and eating dinner with all those couples rest of the time they were there. Unfortunately, you make all these friends and then they have to go home. We had one day remaining after all our new friends left. We could have introduced ourselves to others but knowing we had to leave the next day we kind of figured what is the point. Our hope is that on this trip we meet a few lucky others that get to wave good bye to us.
Last January we did a meet up at the sexy pool bar about 4pm which went down well. It let those who were more shy have a few drinks during the day first before they came and introduced themselves, plus it was quieter around that time.
Yes 4 is Better,, North Americans usually arrive at the resort around noonish, and are usually set up by 3 or 4pm.Some people don't crawl out of bed till noon ( not me). Noon can also be hectic around the pool.

4pm sexy pool sounds the most logical to us. You are already there. I believe the competitions/games have usually ended. Everyone gets out of their chairs or moves from their gatherings in the pool with those you already know and has a drink or does a welcome shot gathered together at the sexy pool bar. Another reason to do a shot never hurts plus the party grows. We like it.
I really like this idea. We get in on Feb 18th at 3:21PM into Cancun, so I'm guessing it will be close to 5pm (and dark) by the time we get to the resort.
