Thanks. I know it's been discussed previously, but what would be a good amount to tip if you are tipping in Pesos at the bars?:daveandmo:
At bar 1 us dollar or 10 to 20 peso's depending on the type of drinks your getting . By the pool ,or paty o,s, if your getting waitress service I will tip $5 on the first round, and your drink never goes empty. The service is always good even if you don't tip, but you'll get that extra service if you do. Of course this is just one opinion and others will tell you different. Tip what your comfortable with For Maid I leave $5 @ day. Enjoy your stay :daveandmo:
we usually bring 2 straps of ones and a stack or two of 5s. may not be easy to break large bills down there unless you find someone with extras. not too many large bills unless you plan on doing a lot of trips away from resort. Also, I found it helps first timers to make sure the bartender sees you put it in the jar or hand it directly to him and tip more at beginning instead of end of night. They are like any other bar server and remember the good tippers.
Keep money in the safe and if you are a smoker then stick a few bucks in your pack.if. Not just bring a small container that is waterproof or change purse that you can stick with your stufff
I bought a couple of Kwik Tek dry Pak waterproof wallet from Amazon, about $8. Put it in my swimsuit pocket, keeps the cash dry all day.
We had no more than 20 dollars in our beach bag at any time this week and had no problems with anyone touching the bag any of the days we were there, I carried our 24 oz cups and tipped 2 dollars each time, by the second trip to the bar I didn't have to even tell him what I wanted and he went straight to the Smirnoff for my vodka and Beefeater for the wifes Gin, tip well and tip often! And on the wet dollars, we were watching one of the contests this week and when one of the lovely ladies removed her top, all of her tip money fell into the pool from being safely tucked! As stated before the don't mind wet dollars at all!
