Two questions: 1. Are the buses back running 24/7 everywhere, not just HZ? 2. Do they have the numbers (odd/even) back up on the HZ bus stops?
I don't know the answer to your question, but you can call the bus company and ask 1-800-950-0287 You'll want to make your first question "¿usted habla inglés, por favor?" which is actually asking the person on the other end whether they speak English, which - if they don't (likely to be the case), they'll know enough to get you someone who does
The buses downtown have never run 24/7...usually they start thinning out around 9 or 10 and then you're lucky if you can catch one later than that. The Ruta 1 buses, however, do run 24/7 from the HotelZone down Av Tulum all night, but after a certain hour make their last stop in the crucero. But those are the only buses that run 24/7.
Well, you can take the R1 bus from the hotel zone to Tulum Ave and it runs all night. But other than that the buses downtown do not run all night. They never have. They tend to run infrequently starting around 9PM or so. It's not unheard of to get one later than say 10PM or so but I wouldn't coint on it. Plan on taking a taxi. The hotel zone buses are running 24/7.
We were recently in Cancun (December) and did not notice any even or odd numbers indicated. I am bumping this to the top of the list in hopes that someone local can answer that part of your question. 212eric V.P.
I think the #2 is the main bus around hotel zone....Took another # to walmart just dont know it, I was drunk
