To stay at the Oasis or not to stay at the Oasis, seems to be a popular question every year!! Its hard to say really, all depends on what you are looking for really! Personally, I have never had a bad room, always clean, everything worked and never had anything missing. Some people bitch about the food, but I think they never ate at the other places inside the oasis, as we normally ate like kings there!! Its a 24/7 party thats for sure!! Flipside of that is you can get a better hotel for the price you will pay for the oasis. But I think people pay the money for the atmosphere and party, not for the actual room which you are never in. Henry has always stayed at other hotels and then just got day passes to come party and he has been just fine with it, as well as other people doing the same thing. Either way..... rock out!
Yeah, I love partying at Oasis during the day but I have little Desire of staying there. Oasis day pass + nice hotel elsewhere is like the best of both worlds, in my opinion. But to each's own. Food wise, Oasis is not that great. Buffet is like cafeteria food. Sit down restaurants are a little better but nothing to rave about. Burgers at the grill by poolside is awesome. I've never gone to Grand restaurants but I've heard good things. Across the street from Oasis is Captain's Cove, by far my favorite restaurant in Cancun. Bubba Gump is not too bad but very chain like. Hooters Cancun is crap, worst one I've ever been. Club Grill at The Ritz Carlton is good but expensive and place is stuffy. If you want more authentic Mexican food, ask Norma to take you downtown.
