CANCUN/PLAYA - DAY 6 TUESDAY We woke up and got ready for the day. Went to Spices, the main restaurant, for the breakfast buffet. Very good food and great service! Let's head out to the pool for a while ... What a beautiful day ... :sunny: What a beautiful resort ... Across the street from the Royal Porto Real is the sister resort, the Gran Porto Real ... We walked over to look around ... The resort was beautiful inside, but the pool wasn't real big, and the beach wasn't as nice as at the RPR. There were some fishing boats and sand bags right in front of their beach. If you're staying at the Royal you can go over to the Gran and eat at the restaurants and use all of the facilities, but the guests of the Gran are not allowed to use the Royal. We VIP's like to keep the riff-raff out. :mrgreen: Today we wanted to go to Walmart. Norb needed some medications, and I was looking for a TMX Elmo. We got a taxi to Walmart for 30 pesos. The bakery ... Fruits ... Christmas decorations ... They were selling live Christmas trees and poinsettias, too. I went to the toy department, while Norb headed to the pharmacy. There was one Elmo on the shelf. He was almost $80.00! I wasn't going to pay that much, so I left Elmo at the Walmart. (As a side note, I did get an Elmo from ebay when I got home! ) Walmart did not have all of the medications that Norb needed, so we took a taxi back to 5th Avenue to check the pharmacies. Looking down 5th ... Tamales 8 pesos ... Colorful purses and tablecloths ... I wandered down near the pier looking for someone. Do you know who I was looking for? Didn't you read my trip report from May? Well, didn't you? :bash: I was looking for the Hot Guy who was collecting for the Fire Department. How could you forget this face ... We walked down to the beach ... Then we saw the fruit ladies ... We were walking by this bar, and spotted the 2 for 1 sign ... Grabbed a table outside, and let's have a mojito ... yummy! :wow: No Elmo and No Hot Guy :cry: , we might as well go back to the Royal Porto Real. Well, I didn't find the Hot Guy Bombero, but here's MY hot guy in his bombero shirt at the bar ... I hope Santa leaves some Grecian Formula in Norb's stocking! :lol: Eventually, we went back to our room to shower and dress for dinner. We wanted to go to Maria Maries again, because we loved it the first time. We had wine, the salad bar, tortilla soup, filet mignon and shrimp, and Spanish coffee ... the exact meal we ate the other night. Everything was so delicious that we couldn't even eat dessert. There was a band in the lobby bar, then at 9 o'clock the show started in the theatre. The show tonight was the International Show. As you can see, Norb really enjoyed it ... the show ... was entertaining ... It had been a long day, so after the show we went back to our room, and said goodnight. Bloody fantastic! I now have a craving for shrimp and steak, mmm. Doesn't seem fair that you didn't see Hot Guy but Norb enjoyed the International Show!
