cancun palace no we choose to stay at the royal cancun its opening on jan 14 its near cancun palace at least that is what are travel agent told us she said it is all knew the web site looks really nice it may have had a another name before i dont know though hopefully it is nice
We are booked there for Feb 17-24th I just checked our confirmation online and it confirmed the stay. they have not notified me of any problems. Of course now you can't get anyone at Palace Resorts until Monday. they have even already charged my credit card!! Do they automatically assign you to a different resort? E are members of Palace resorts and did not book through a trave agent. Any info would be appreciated. I sure don't want to get there and have no place to stay and end up having to pay three prices to stay somewhere else!!! :roll:
cancun palace well they r booking rooms my husband talked to someone there today but we just decided to go ahead and book somewhere else because when we booked in nov they promised us that it would be opened and here we r and their not very disapointed good luck
Cancun Palace Photos - Jan. 4, 2007 My family just came back from Cancun 48 hours ago. They spent about an hour shooting pictures of the Cancun Palace and talking to workers. It's not good news. The pool isn't even in yet. We were booked for Feb. 10-18. Very disappointing. Here are eight photos that were taken Jan. 4th, 2007. I doubt Cancun Palace will be completely finished until April. What a great job. Thanks for the effort at documenting the mess we locals have been living with. I'd like to point out that if your scroll to the right of the 8th picture you are looking at what is supposed to be the public access road to Playa Ballenas. The fact that Fonatur has allowed this public area to be so misused and abused is a very sad comment on business in Mexico. It's been a year since we could comfortably walk down to the beach without the risk of being run over by a concrete truck or falling into a crater.
Oh My Gosh, that does not look good. Even if they have rooms I sure don't want to be staying amid all that construction. Thanks for the heads up I am calling them now!!
Dave, Where id your family end up staying? I called the Palace Resorts and also got an email response from my email to them and they now say the "tentative" opening date is February 10th. We have reservations there the 17th. they say if they are unable to open they will put as at another resort. She said on the phone it would be a comparable resort at no additional cost to us. But we have tours included in our package as well as spa treatments. I have asked again whether this will all come with where ever they place us. I have told them that the Moon Palace is unacceptable to me. I have been there and I don't like the location or the horrible smelly beach there. I don't know what to do. She said I could trust that they will take care of us. I'm not sure I feel very trusting at this point!
I can honestly say hand on heart I never noticed any smells on the beach at Moon Palace when I was there last May :shock:
