Cancun Palace OPEN?! Awesome. So glad to hear the Cancun Palace is open!! We are going next week, 2/21/07, with a fairly large group of party animals (ok, maybe only half party animals) and have been hoping to hear news that they are finally open. Their web site was not too helpful! It will be my first trip to Cancun and cannot wait to get out of here, as I stare at 8 foot piles of snow at the end of my driveway....Thanks for the info. Peace out. :michaelf:
I can't wait to see pics. It was frustrating seeing delay after delay but it is better than some other resorts that opened too early. I have seen some horrific trip reports on other hotels that just opened up. Glad to see the gutted, hopefully no mold, new furniture - everything new!
F.Y.I F.Y.I~~~~ I was at Costco last night and they offer discounted travel through their store, well I picked up one of their books and it has the new pictures of the Cancun Palace and describes it as being totally redone but it also has it listed as an ADULTS ONLY resort!!!! Is that a misprint? I am thinking - Yeah because I have never heard or seen that anywhere else. Ellabear424
I thought they were trying to change the image from the "party palace". I wish they would leave it the same and keep the beach as the "family palace"
I am thinking that it has to be an error on their part. The Palace Resort website does not mention anything about it being ADULTS ONLY. They only mention Aventura Spa Palace as ADULTS ONLY. BSN, Have you been to Cancun Palace within the last few years? Last time I was there was in 2000. Do you think that the Cancun Palace would be a good Palace Resort for me and my 15 yrs old daughter? She is pretty mature and would not be happy in a kids club painting ceramics. Thanks, ELLABEAR424
We were there in Oct. 2005 before and during Wilma. Not a lot of kids there then or any of the other 5 to Cancun Palace except the one time we hit on a High School senior trip - not fun to watch the kids or the parents . I don't remember if they had a kids club but I don't think so. She will have fun based on how it was. They had a lot of activities (volleyball - pool and beach) aerobics, trivia, etc. They had some cool shows at night too (karoke, newly wed, interactive, etc.). I read somewhere that because the sun is couples only that the beach and cancun would be family resorts. The ASP is adults only.
