D&D, I see that you have been to the CP many times in June? How full is the resort at that time :?: And what kind of crowd is usually there :?: There will be 4 of us. Ages 15 to 69. Thanks, EB
D & D The Pres suites at CP have liquor dispensors like the others. I didn't see a full bar. You will have a bottle of wine waiting for you upon arrival. I'm sure you could have more delivered to your room if you asked. I'm having severe withdrawals.....
Ellabear424, We usually see a few children, and teenagers on up. Many from the USA and english is widely understood by the staff. With the Beach Palace not opened yet ( which is a family oriented resort) I am not sure what to expect. We have many lasting friends we met here and still vacation with them every year. June is not filled to capacity but we were there once in Aug. and would never do that again. I still prefer the CP over the others. You'll have a great time. D
One of the presidential suites does not have an ocean view BUT it has its' own private swimming pool in the suite.
August trip at CP Ellabear424, It was a last minute trip, called our agent on a Thurs. and was there that Sat. morning. The resort was packed and the staff seamed overwelmed. ( they could have been under staffed ) The humidity also was at it's peak and it was very hot :!: I am sure it would be more comfortable with A/C in the lobbyas it is now. We still had a great time by visiting other Palace resorts, going on the Captian Hook dinner cruise and other outings. So now we go in June with family and in mid October for our anniversary with friends we met there. We have tried other places including Barbados and still prefer the CP and Mexico.
Hey that is how traditions start. I loved the CP years ago when I went. The only thing that I know I will miss is the lushness of the pool area but I will cope. I also really liked the Omni. I see that you stayed at the Barcelo Tropical. I stayed there once in Feb. of 06. I really do not like going in the winter months. Sometimes it is not very warm. The first night that we were at the Barcelo, everyone went to dinner in their white robes because it was freezing. The resort looked like a Nut Ward. I will give a very detailed scoop upon my return. For now I must sit and wait for my daughter's passport.

Back From the Cancun Palace! Picture link attached. Hi everyone, we just returned from a week at the Cancun Palace last night and wanted to share with you the great time we had. First, here is a link to some pictures we took: http://s198.photobucket.com/albums/aa237/tucsonwildcat1/ The CP has transformed itself into an Excellent vacation spot. We were last there in 2005 during Hurricaine Emily and to see the transition they have made to the hotel and property since then is amazing. I would rate our overall experience this trip as EXCELLENT The staff was amazing. They were very professional, friendly, courteous, kind, caring, etc.. the entire trip! Accomodations: We were upgraded to a Presidential Suite on the 2nd floor with a direct view of the ocean.. see pictures. The room was excellent. It was kept extremely clean, had excellent air conditioning, stocked bar.. if we needed anything, the staff at CP were there promptly and followed up with a call shortly after and service request. Even though the room was right near the pool and ocean it was very quiet and peaceful. Restaurants: Excellent food and service. We ate at all of the CP restaurants, some multiple times and always had an excellent meal. Frida's was my favorite along with the Japanese restaurant. The food was excellent, always plentiful, very well presented and top notch all the time. The staff was so nice and remembered our names on day 2. We really enjoyed the guitar trio at Frida's. We the staff and enterainment people well during our stay.. as they truly earned it and appreciated it as well. Even though its all inclusive it made us happier to show our appreciation for the level of service they provided us. Entertainment and trips: Entertainment was very good but I suggested to the staff that they needed to find a way to spice it up with some new routines for our return trips. Would like to see something new next time. Weather: Great, Great Great!... lots of sun in the mid to high 80's. Water was warm in the ocean and pool. Pool: Water was clean, clear and warm. The new design is excellent. Membership upgrade: We have been Palace Premier members for 4 years now. They took us through their upgrade sales presentation (90 min) and did a very nice job with it. They were very courteous and non-high pressure. We did not upgrade further as we already have a top package with them but I would not hesitate on future visits to re-consider upgrading. Overall experience: Best trip to Cancun in years. CP exceeded my expectations by far. I would not hesitate to go back tomorrow. Pool: [/url]
