Hey to all you guys at the Cancun Palace!

If you guys could give us folks back here some tips or hints on the place that would be great.

Are you allowed to take one of their umbrellas onto the beach or do they have some there :?:

I noticed in one of the pictures that they have the sun beds on an upper deck. Are those for the spa or just any one :?:

Were guests getting up early and reserving chairs and umbrellas :?:

Busiest times at the Resturants and Buffets :?:

Anything that you can tell us will be great. Thanks for telling us what the best floors are.

I can't wait to hear from you guys and see all your pics. Have fun!!! :D :D :D

They say the Beach Palace is supposed to open in July... NO WAY!! We haven't been up to it by beach, but we have driven by in a taxi a few times and it's far far from finished.

That leads me to Venom's question. There are a LOT more kids here than I've ever seen before, BUT I think that is because the Beach Palace is still closed. Beach has always been KID CITY. Now with Sun being couples only, the Moon Palace is the only other option for families. When the swim up bars are packed with partying adults, it's not the place kids should be and it truly annoys me that parents let their young children hang out at the Swim up bars with them.

EB, they have umbrellas and lounges all along the beach. The umbrellas have heavy stands, so they are very difficult to move. The sun beds you see are off the 3rd floor by the Steak House. They are for everyone. They are far from the pools and beach but located near the jacuzzis. They are very comfortable. They are right in front of rooms that are on the 3rd floor. I saw a woman out there at 1am with her pillow and comforter from her bed sleeping one night. There are tons of chairs around the pool. Much more than before. If you want front row right along the pool, you will need to get up before 7:30 to put your towels out. I'm sitting on my balcony at 9:20am local time and there are tons of available chairs that I can see other than those.

They told us the resort is 80% full. We have not waited yet for dinner and we have gone to dinner anywhere from 6pm - 9pm. If you are going to the Japanese Restaurant and want the hibatchi tables, there's a wait usually. (either waiting to fill one up, or to become available.) There are also tables to eat at off a menu. I didn't see a wait for those.

We've had room service late at night twice. Food came quickly and was hot! Excellent addition to the Cancun Palace ammenities.

Keep the questions coming, I'll be happy to answer...

By the way Venom - How 'bout those RED SOX????? Hee Hee Hee

    WOW! that was fast woman.

Ok here is my next question.
What type of activities do they have during the day poolside or on the beach :?:
I am sure my daughter and neice will want to get involved in whatever they have to offer.

Is it more lively than the Moon Palace :?:
Is it pretty lively around the pool area :?:
My mom gets a kick out of watching others. :D

    Cancun Palace or Moon Palace?

    Hi

I am booked at the Moon Palace, but I am thinking of changing my booking to the Cancun Palace. I would like to go to the livliest one, which do you think is more livley for two adults (40 and 41) and two teenagers (17 and 15)?

My teenagers like to join in activities/contests etc and meet people of similar age. Are the activities geared towards adults and teenagers at both resorts.Which resort is better for teenagers do you think?

I keep changing my mind, do you think it it may be better to be in the hotel zone nearer the shops etc?

Any advice would be greatly apprieciated
    Thanks!

Sorry technical difficulties -- mouse went down.

You can ride the bus for .50 USD or 65 pesos.
Maybe Denise can answer you question on the teenagers. We've visited MP, but never stayed there.

    Hi everybody,

Honesly, I've been disappointed by the activities around the pool. BUT - Up until about the time we got here, they have only been at 40% capacity. They say the resort is 80% full now. I can only assume they will beef that up as capacity remains steady. In previous years, the entertainment here has been non stop with crazy games and contests around the pool. I find it hard to believe that they won't get to that point soon.

The fun at the pool at Moon Palace was fantastic! They have 4 entertainment staffers there all the time. Here, there are currently only 2 and yesteday one had the day off. I'm going to comment on that when we check out and Jayson is already on a first name basis with the entertainment staff, so he will talk to them later and see about their future plans.

We check out today for a very late red-eye flight, so I may not be able to get back to you for a few days with what we found out.

    Hang tight!!
