    ladykatsfan,

It sounds like life is GOOD!

You mentioned the fountains in front are working; are there fountains in the back as well?
Also, does the vanity area in the room have makeup mirrors (other than the large mirrors above the sinks)?

Keep those FUN reports coming (if you have time).
Looking forward to your photos! Jan

Sounds like the Cancun Palace is going good! I can't wait to get there and see it.

One question I have, how is the airport? Chaza travel is supposed to be there to take us to the hotel. I read at one time that you had to go to a different place for immigration when you get to the terminal and that you have to get back to the airport to get to Chaza travel. How did you get from the airport to Cancun Palace?

Does Cancun Palace have internet terminals for those of us without a laptop?

I really appreciate all your help. Hope you continue to have fun in the sun! Be safe!

    Jan,

i don't remember seeing fountains in the back but i will make sure to take note next time i'm by the pool. the vanity area does have one make-up mirror on it as well as the large mirror also.

    Sheri,

all i can say about the airport is i hope i never have to go throught that again !!! when we 1st arrived, we were told to go to the back of the immigration line. it wrapped through 3/4's of the airport !!! it took us probably 2 hrs to get through it. it started on the top floor and then continued down the stairway to the actual immigration area. i got into a line that looked like it was moving fast but we all know how that works. as soon as i got into it, it stopped moving for probably 10 minutes because someone didn't fill out their forms correctly and couldn't understand what to do. finally it moved and i was able to get thru it in about 10-15 minutes. once thru that i had to search for my luggage. it was marked with the air carriers tag but not by the conveyor belt it should have been at. you literally have to look in every place to find it. once i did find it i went to the area where they ask you to push the button for the green/red light. everyone that i saw got a green light so it went pretty quick (maybe 2-3 minutes for me and my group). once i got thru that, i looked in the hallway for my transportation name and they got me to where i needed to be. i had to wait for about 10-15 for the van to get there and then had to wait for him to take on others for other hotels. after he dropped everyone else off (moon palace - which is HUGE from what i saw, and one other - can't remember name), we arrived at our hotel in about 15-20 minutes. once i got here, i had some trouble getting checked in since we arrived one day late. our travel agency was supposed to have called and confirmed the new date and apparently no one wrote anything new. they went ahead and booked us into the room (i asked for a ocean view and was told if they have the room available i'd get it - didn't get it tho and was a little upset but dealt with it because i was here and that was good enough !!). from then on it has been nothing but fun in the sun and a little burn cream here and there - lol.

they do have internet service for people without laptops. they are located in the area of the event rooms. if you follow the signs from the floor that the italian restaurant is on to the event rooms, you'll walk right by them.

    back to the pool !!

    :D :D :D :D :D

    ladykatsfan,

I'm so glad to hear you are having a wonderful time..

How's the condition of the pool? There's a post on Trip Advisor stating that it's a swill hole.. Says he wouldn't let his dog swim in it. Something about the infinity style needs to be full enough so that the water flows over the edge and into the filtration system. Since it's not full, they wake up to food, garbage and sunscreen scum that hasn't been taken care of. Says there were many complaints to manangement, but they have done nothing.

He said the rest of the resort was filthy... restaurants, rooms with backed up toilets...

    Can you confirm or deny?

Thanks - I begged my husband to try the new Cancun Palace instead of his beloved Moon Palace and if it's not up to snuff, he will kill me!!!!

I still think Tripadvisor is the most negative site out there...

That pool was immaculate, and crystal clear when I was wandering through in March:

well here's my take on the pool from someone that owns one of their own. i thought it could have been clearer myself but it's still not that bad. the one thing i didn't like about it was that it didn't seem to flow over the wall like it should which left alot of peeled/flaked off dried skin on the surface. i've spent most of my time between the pool and the ocean. i wouldn't say it's nasty or scummy tho. as far as the rest of the hotel, i don't know where that person on trip advisor stayed but it sure wasn't CP. the place is always being cleaned by housekeeping and the main lobby has a maid cleaning it and mopping up the water from the pool (uses a towel on a squeege (sp?)) on the floors so they are kept dry.

    Jan,

as far as the fountains go in the back, there are some around the kiddy pool but they are not working yet. also the ones up front are not fully functional yet, they have water coming up from the pipes but not fully spraying yet.
