Nick, Concerning the CP beach: Was it ALL cleaned up? I know that you said the trac-hoe was gone. How about the rocks and equipment by the JW Marriott -- I saw a picture that showed a mountain of rocks. Also, did you hear anything on how soon additional CP rooms would be ready for guests? rocks and stuff There are no rocks on the Cancun beach. Where the trac-hoe was there are boulders - kind of a dividing line between the properties. To the north the rubble has been cleaned up. The CP sand itself is hard pack from the wall to the ocean for a few feet and then it drops down about 16 inches into the soft sand. Once you are in the water you will come to a portion of sharp stones but from what I could tell it is like a ribbon following the shore line and is about 3 feet wide. As soon as you get in a little further the sand is soft again. So I just swam over it. As far as rooms all floors are not yet open but it looks like they are getting very close. I could tell because where the rooms are not ready they do not have the outside chairs and the workers are cleaning the glass etc. All of the glass is brand new - green in tincture. any one have info on the cancun palace does anyone know the status of the cancun palace? i know lots of people are giving it bad reviews. im heading down there with my g/f and like 8 of my friends in late may.do you thikn they will have all the rooms open and are the horror stories really true? we already have rooms booked but we were wondering because if it is that bad then we were going to see if we could switch hotels. thanks
Reechie, it's best to read back on this thread and you will find many responses from people that have stayed there recently. There are also more going in March and will report back. We are arriving at CP on 4/20 and I'm not worried about it. By May, they will have much more completed, I assure you. Keep an eye open, but don't worry to much.

to Free and Sheri Free - we stayed at MP; visited CP. I had services call the CP this morning to get an update on the GYM there. Two weeks until open. Sheri - the kitchen tour at MP is given twice per week. The tours are in the afternoon and there are two groups 3:30 and 4 or 4:30. It is open to all guests. Room service menu at CP I have no idea because we did not stay there. Oops - time to check out. Later. Nick
