LOL.. Thanks all.. I will have to remember this.. I truly need assistance last year lol.. I about passed out on the bus ride back to the room.. Wouldn't have been good. Too many Tequila shots.. I think it was 12 straight, plus all the other stuff I had drank that night.. I did make it back safe, but by the time I got to my room on my balcony to sit, next thing I know, the sun work me up... Close call...

this year cancun was very corrupt. we had so many instances of money and things going missing at the oasis. Also a guy we met at the oasis was getting a taxi home at night on his own, and the taxi driver took him 10km into downtown and demanded $200 or he would have to walk home. He didnt pay and lets just say the taxi driver lost all his takings for the night. picked on the wrong guy.

The police were just as bad they took a couple of mates of ours to the bank after they had been kicked out of the nightclub drunk, and demanded $500 or they would be arrested.

thats not uncommon, if you were drunk and got kicked out of a club, you can bet you are going to run into security or cops, and you will pay to stay out of jail! Thats their own fault most likely, shouldnt have caused a scene to get kicked out! The taxi thing is just a bad situation, but like I said, we usually go with the bus and in groups to avoid that!

YEah the cops are brutal over there from what I have heard.

Again I have had no issues in the 5 or 6 times I have been there....

thats cause you weren't acting a fool and getting into fights or getting kicked out of clubs! I saw a video on youtube of a girl this year getting escorted out of a club because she was drunk and started fighting, guess what......... the cops were waiting on her when she left the club! I would expect it........... besides people need to understand they aren't in their own country anymore, don't get so drunk you cant funtion and you should be fine!

Oh yeah totally agree. Some tourist think they are invincible while in another country.
Like fighting and disorderly conduct wouldn't fly at home so it obviously doesn't work in Mexico.

I keep myself outta trouble and therefor I have no issues,

I always tip my maids very well at the hotel. In order to keep them happy, and sometimes keep them out for a couple days of my room. Don't need someone in my room everyday..Keeps the chances of thigns getting stolen to a minimum. Keep them happy and they wouldn't touch your stuff.

we ALWAYS keep a "do not disturb" sign on the door until we absolutely need the maids! In most cases we just order up more towels and bed sheets rather than let them clean, keeps them out of our room and our stuff safe.
