Just got back from driving the hotel zone along the same route as I took yesterday. I tried my very best to find some damage to report on but other than maybe 2 or 3 small trees that had the tops snapped off I couldn’t find anything. There were groups of clean up guys wandering around looking for things to clean up, and they couldn’t find anything either. There is no standing water and the sun is making short work of any puddles that were around. Still a stiff breeze blowing but no rain and blue skies. Boards are being removed from windows, many restaurants and shops are open, and tourists are milling about. Carlos n Charlies looked quite busy for a lunch time. The guys at Coco Bongo were busy erecting the large promotional banners for tonights show, same at Dady O. Senor Frogs was already open. I have two videos which I’ll post shortly as soon as they’ve been edited and uploaded. These are the same two videos as yesterday, one of the beach at Playa Marlin and the other a drive through the Cancun hotel zone. As I write I can hear planes flying overhead, and they’re incoming flights.
I have not left the house yet today, but we are DONE with our Hurricane Dean cleanup. All that needed to be done was to sweep the driveway of the extra leaves that blew down, there was basically nothing to clean up.
ILL BE THERE TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am currently attempting to extend my vacation. this way I can let things settle more. Been on hold for about 45 minutes. hope it is worth it and I dont have to pay any change fees
Thanks Steve, Thanks for all the updates and the things you do for everyone. It's going to make our trip Thursday a lot easier knowing that everything is okay. Thanks also to RiverGirl for her work. Richard and Anita
Happy to see all did relatively well. Thanks Steve for the reports, I have been holding off on booking something for the end of October until I saw how everything fared but with these reports I am sitting here feverishly going over resorts and finding where we want to stay Thanks for all you hard work
