He asked about Congo Bar, not Coco Bongo. Can't blame you TJ though, I dont think any of them do over 60's night at the moment
And Teeeej.... The Corona Bar closed like 4 years ago. Mandala is sort located where it was. Steve... I needed that laugh. But my Dad did enjoy a looooong night at Coco Bongo 4 years ago at 65yrs old
I've only been out to two more or less clubs so far in cancun that being City and Dady O's I was also guided to Elevate which imo is an awsome place to check out for the view alone, it is a spiritual experience. I can't really comment too much but both were great, but I'm a non drinker except on holidays and I've only gone to the two with open bar. So yeah I had good experiences but probably not your average night for most mexicans and tourists. Management at City were nice and understanding but very professional expect nothing but professionalism, just don't expect the world from them as a pleeb but they were definately accomodating, but professional is the only way to put it, they take care of their VIP so if you want good treatment get a bottle and a table. Staff in Dady O's were friendly and they were pretty laid back and freindly, very positive group. Actually service staff at City also were great. Really the people that work in the places are into what they are doing they are a great group of people, you can tell they make the most of it, and keep a positive attitude. City was packed when I went and I still managed to edge out a little room to flop around like a nutter. Dady O's all I remember is opting not to take the stairs to get between levels, do not toast with people though, the glasses are fragile, but really that is your call. And elevate is just absolutely beautiful, and the people up there were a really friendly group.. really grade A. I would say though I tend to see most mexicans as relatively conservative clubbers, so if you are a hoofer who likes to scream don't be suprised if people consider you a little odd. I'm still pretty childish when it comes to a night out, I still havn't matured. Dady O's was an odd but good experience, I'm a hobbiest DJ and producer so I love sound, Dady's music was predominantly top40 club and I am more UK and German Trance, tribal house etc.. but I could still appreciate the night, and the sound system was sex. City was raw. I havn't gone on a "regular night" whatever that is suppose to be though, I was suppose to see PVD at city, I thought I actually ended up at his VIP table for a breif exchange of smiles incoherence but maybe not, the music wasn't so much vandit as I was expecting though.. none the less, Dady O's was NYE it was festive but also sort of incoherent. All the places have good room to chill with friends, if you have the cash get a table. None the less superclubs are awsome for passing a good night, and more or less they've been positive experiences. Then again even getting kicked out of a club in Playa (the only time I've ever been kicked out of somewhere, I think cause I passed out into a pool, but I'm not sure about that) was a relatively good experience. None the less even the smaller bars in town are pretty nice, being a tourism area.. I'd say its a great place to go for a night out whether, laid back or more into it. The city has pretty much everything you could want. Of course think safe unless you are the reckless type. There are other places, but it depends what you are looking for. Just to sum up, yes there are lots of places in cancun but the hotel zone has most of the big ones. Most of the other places can even be called "locales bars" etc.., but the hotel zone places are the epitome of what the major commercial club scene represents as.. Of course the hotels themselves have bars/clubs to, the most well known is ME. https://www.facebook.com/ME.Cancun Whoever they have doing their promotions does a good job of net promotions.
