I have a decent write up on this page:
Cancun Casinos | Guide To The Top Three Casinos in Cancun

I know Playboy closed down for a while but I think it's open again now. Playboy is the only one in the hotel zone and the only one that has live dealers as far as I know. It's members only ($20) you can buy a membership at the door.

The Casino Dubai is in downtown (not far from the entrance of the Hotel Zone) and its open until 6:00AM, I recommend it. It is located on the Tulum Ave.

I prefer the Cancun Palace to the Dubai palace aithough they are pretty much interchangeable to me.

It has live dealers for Blackjack and Texas hold 'em and they also have a Crap table. There is a decent buffet for $100 pesos. It is easier to get to from the hotel zone as it is about a four minute walk from the intersection at Av. Tulum. All of the buses from the hotel zone stop at this intersection. THe R1 makes a right and stops immediately. The R2 goes through the intersection and stops immediately at Chadraui, a big grocery.

Both buses are going west as they approach this intersection. You want to go south after getting off the bus and the CP will be on your right after a few short blocks.

Now, if you are lucky enough to catch an R27 bus, it stops in front of the Cancun Palace casino. And returning to the hotel zone it stops pretty much across the street from the casino. BUT, this bus runs only every 20 minutes and does not run all night long. And they are not always on schedule.

If you want to try the Dubai Palace it is about 10 minutes further on the left. You will pass our largest downtown mall, Plaza Las Americas also on your left. No matter which side of the street you are walking on, crossing the intersection just before the mall will be an adventure. You really need to be careful. I strongly suggest being on the left side of the street at this point. There will be a VW dealership on the far left corner and this is where you need to be really careful. And you have to cross street twice making it even more dangerous.

Hey TJ - I didn't know they had live dealers still! that's great, I thought it was all computerized. I don't suppose you know what the min bet is on the craps table do you?

    Mat,

They stopped for a while but there for sure now. $50 and $100 minimum bet, and I think $2,500 max.

they have something too called (I think) "semi-live". The cards are dealt but a monitor system that somehow reads the cards, displays them, along with the count. You bet by touch screen and it keeps track of your chip balance. Other tables are normal as to chips, betting, etc.

Ok, dumb question: Is there a legit Mexican Gaming Commission? I ask since these are mostly computerized casinos and we all know computers can be rigged. (Cards can be fixed too, I know)
