Some good info here: http://www.bnamericas.com/story.jsp?sector=6¬icia=382617&idioma=I Asur: US$100mn Cancún terminal online in May - Mexico Published: Thursday, February 15, 2007 15:10 (GMT -0400) Mexican private airport operator Asur's (NYSE: ASR, BSV: ASUR) Cancún international airport will begin operations at a new US$100mn terminal in May, local daily El Financiero quoted the airport's deputy operations director Carlos Trueba as saying. The new 40,000 sq m terminal will have 15 departure gates and 84 check-in counters, and will operate alongside the airport's current terminal, through which some 9.8mn passengers currently pass every year. The new terminal will double the current terminal's 2,200 people/h peak capacity to 4,400 people/h. Average daily operations will nearly double from 266 to 450. Cancún saw international passenger traffic grow 51.7% in January compared to the same month in 2006, mainly due to its partial recovery from damage inflicted by Hurricane Wilma in October 2005.
Now that's what I like to see! So good to see Cancun doing well! (and certainly good to know that going into and leaving Cancun should be so much easier after May)
