As the Canadian stuck in Canada I feel compelled to reply. First off I do not agree with the policy. Here is what we are told here. This policy applies to two countries, Mex and one of the slovac countries. It seems this policy came about due to a recent "alarming" increase of refugee status claims from people from these two regions once they arrive in Canada. For those that don't know, the crazy system we have here, gives claimants free healthcare, welfare and living accomodations. It often works out better than if you were a citizen :lol: I can't verify this claim but since Mex is a typical tourist destination it really has the travel agents up in arms cause there just isn't a Mexican embassy on every street corner.
