just got off the phone with nextel rep. the phone should work for all calls without changing your plan. it will be 99 cents a minute to the US tho...ouch.
99 cents a minute?? They are definitely cheaper ways to call..calling card or CancunValet phone if you'll be making a lot of calls.
looks like it will be 20 cents a minute for me with no set up costs...i could also pay an extra 3.99 and the per minute rate would drop down to 9 cents
Same with the Sprint whose rep I talked to earlier tonight. Like I said, I'll only use my phone (if it works) if I really need to find people. I don't really plan on having long phone conversations while I am on vacation.
