you can, but you may get charged!! Hotels are often charging people for the smallest of things, at least that I have personally noticed. Walk to a pay phone or use one in your hotel lobby, easiest way around it!
depends where you#7;re staying , i know at the tucancun there is a little net cafe where u can pay to use the phones, ie just told the woman where you're calling and she gave you the rate... seemed cheap to me, and that was making a call to a UK cell phone! they might have that going on in the hotel you're staying at!
this can be a pain in the balls. last year my nextel walkie talkie worked but my regular calls didn't. this year im going to turn on international dialing and just use my cell phone. walking down to the street, waiting in line. i can be a real problem. especially when you have a not so happy girlfriend at home on the other end of the phone.
I thought every cell phone could call Long distance? No? I have always called from my cell, or text messaged from my phone in Cancun no problem :?
no, not all cell phones work in Cancun. Cingular does. Some Nextel does. Not sure about Sprint or from other countries. I think I paid $0.59/minute last year for Cingular from Cancun to US.
I'm bring my Sprint phone. Not sure it'll work or not. Even if it works, I'll only use it if I really have to. I'm also bring my laptop so if I want to make long phone calls back to the US, I'll just use internet phone.
