I know it's been a little over a month since I went to Cabo but better late than never...

    August 16th

We Left home around 3:30 am, dropped car off at Park ’n Fly and took their shuttle to SFO. Our flight left at 6:00 am without any problems. We had a brief layover in Phoenix and arrived in Mexico around Noon. We picked up our luggage breezed thru customs and were very happy to get a green light. Once we went thru the double doors we were swarmed by timeshare salesmen who we tried our hardest to avoid, so much so until we ended up going thru the wrong door and had to walk in the heat to the other side of the airport to find our shuttle. We located our driver and took the 45 minute scenic drive from San Jose Del Cabo to Cabo San Lucus. We finally arrive at The Cabo Villas Beach Resort.

Cabo Villas is a very nice and well kept resort. It sits RIGHT on the beach and is walking distance to everything. There is absolutely no need to get in a cab. The only negative is that they are doing construction on their new section which is going to be beautiful when it is done and they are constructing luxury condos right next door. The noise didn’t really bother us as we didn’t spend much time around the construction zone.

    Construction next door...

When we arrived we were greeted by their very friendly staff who told us that registration was being held by the pool that day. I thought that was very interesting… So we go down to the pool area and we are escorted inside the Attitude Bar where we were introduced to Norma who took care of our check in, made sure we had plenty of margaritas, and also made sure we scheduled an appointment to tour the property. I knew it!!! Most timeshare resorts at least wait until you get settled in your room before they make that welcome call and invite you to tour the property. Not Cabo Villas!! It’s a part of the check in process!! After all that we were starving, so we stayed and had lunch at the Attitude Bar. I had a delicious chicken quesadilla and Ronnie had a cheeseburger while we waited for our room to get ready.

Once we get the word that our room is ready we anxiously made our way up to the third floor. We were originally supposed to be on the second floor but since we agreed to attend a presentation they upgraded us to the third floor with a better view. We were happy with our room. The only thing I was disappointed with was the fact that there was no bathtub/Jacuzzi in the room. However I quickly got over it. We were so tired from basically being up for about 32 hours straight because we never went to sleep Friday night, we unpacked Mitzy and Ditzy and let them get comfortable...

...then we crashed for a few hours. After our little nap we changed and head down to the beach which was beautiful I might add, and watched the sunset while we had appetizers at The Office.

    I had Jumbo shrimp cocktail...

Ronnie had nachos with flank steak...

We shared a banana chocolate cake with ice cream but it was so good we forgot to take a picture of it!! After our delicious appetizers we strolled the beach for a while and enjoyed each others company for the rest of the evening.

    August 17th

I’m too lazy to post pictures as I go so I will just post a link to the pictures at the end of the report.

Up at 9 am to get ready for our 10:30 am presentation. We had breakfast at Baja Cantina that consisted of breakfast burritos, refried beans, taco casserole, eggs and fruit. I’ve never been to a buffet with no MEAT!!!

We listened to the presentation, did the tour, fell in love and to make a long story short…we got rid of our timeshare in Orlando and became owners at the Cabo Villas. We bought a two bedroom villa right on the beach. The selling point for me was the fact that the resort sits right on the beach, it’s walking distance to all the restaurants on the beach, and walking distance to the marina and downtown and night life. Plus, it’s only a 3 hour flight from home!!! After becoming members, we were given VIP treatment for the remainder of the week.

After our very exciting morning we decided to take a walk down to the marina. The marina is lined with great restaurants, bars and the mall is also conveniently located their too. :D Somehow I managed to resist the Temptation to shop on this particular day. After strolling around the marina for a few hours we walked to the grocery store purchased a few items and took a cab back to the resort. We put up our groceries and then headed down to the Attitude Bar again for lunch. I had another chicken quesadilla and Ron had a club sandwich. After lunch we got drunk at the pool bar and met some really nice people.

Dinner that night was at the Sunset Gill, a restaurant located on the rooftop of the resort that offers one of the best views I’ve ever seen. We made sure we went at sunset and the view was breathtaking. Our meal was on the house so we had steak and lobster (the biggest lobster tail I’ve ever seen!!!) followed by fried ice cream and chocolate cake. After dinner we went down to the beach for another romantic stroll and that is when we met Victor. I’ll tell you more about Victor on Day 3.…

We stopped at The Office to listen to the live band, danced on the beach until the wee hours and then called it a night.

CONGRATS on your purchase! That's great that you can walk everywhere, and save $$ on cabs.
Also great that it's only 3 hours away!

    Steak and Lobster ... YUMMY!!!!
    :D
