I have been to see Roberto several times! Yes, he does seem to genuinely make an effort for good customer care. However, his phone NEVER answers my calls and it is a 40 minute drive to his office. I have tried several times to see him in the past year, but he has been 'out of the office' . . . I am going to go to Cancun today, but I do not know if he works on a Saturday.

Here is my Cablemas experience this month: (1) for at least 2 weeks my internet download speed has been LESS than 1 Mbps - I PAY for 10Mbps - usually between 0.23Mbps to 0.5Mbps !!! On two days last week it briefly touched 9Mbps and then dropped back to less than 1Mbps again (2)channel 606 (CNN news) keeps dropping the sound. When I quickly flick channels, it comes back. Finally I got fed up, so I called Cablemas 'service' yesterday at 8:25am and reported everything. The agent said he would 'reboot' my signal and would call me back after 15 minutes - which he did. The speed rose to 9.87Mbps, so I accepted that. However, CNN still kept dropping out.
Today I switched on the TV at 7am for the morning news, to find that channel 606 now had 'No Signal'!!! I took a deep breath and switched to Discovery Channel. at 7:28am ALL CHANNELS FAILED! NO SIGNALS ON ANYTHING . . .
I called Cablemas at 7:32 and was put on hold . . . at 7:35am a voice spoke rapidly in Spanish, so I asked him to speak slowly as my Spanish is limited. He said there was no English speaker available till 8:30am - mas o menus!
I will definitely be speaking to Roberto ASAP - live!
My suggestion is this: NEVER USE CABLEMAS!

A friend just called and is on the way to Cablemas now. He wanted to know if I had a contact AND if he could use my dining room table for his office today. His service has been down for a week and he gets nowhere on the phone and speaks Spanish with ease.

xpat - I can drive there in 5 or walk in 10. Maybe moving is your answer. LOL
    Good luck.

    AnotheR CABLEMAS SUX DAY

Last night when I logged on around 7pm, the CABLEMAS SUX system was so ponderously slow that I could not even get a Speed Test to work! I called umpteen times foe two hours - every call gave an engaged signal! I gave up in frustrated exhaustion and watched TV instead.
Today I logged on at 5am . no apparent signal at all. In a mood to kill, I called CABLEMAS SUX - and again got a continuous engaged signal.
At 7:55am I finally got through, was put on hold for 5 minutes while 'a technician was contacted' - and then the bloody phone dropped out! Had to go to Cancun for a car problem and ended up being unable to go to CABLEMAS SUX HQ.
    Will go tomorrow . . . .
This evening the speed test was able to work - a miserable 0.61 Mbps - and I am paying through the nose for 10Mbps.
CABLEMAS IS A FRAUDULENT COMPANY. DO NOT EVER TAKE OUT A CONTRACT WITH THEM. THEY WILL FAIL TO COMPLY WITH ITS TERMS 100% OF THE TIME! AND THEY NEVER EVER GIVE A REFUND AFTER STEALING YOUR MONEY.

Sorry to hear about them continuing to fail you. Suggest you demand a refund for what you think you can justify, then threaten to go to PROFECO, then if that doesn't work, go and file a complaint.

My biggest bitch is that on my Int'l Package I had ABC & NBC network feeds from US cities and we had Ch 43, the American Network, CBS programming, and they just took them away from us. They promised and promised but I gave up finally. And that's saying something as I can be relentless.

You are quite correct. They claim to give you stuff and then once you have a contract with them, they remove half of it! I went to Cablemas Cancun HQ and it was packed with people. You could hardly get in the door. The BIGGEST queue was for the "NO SERVICE" section, not the cashiers. Roberto was nowhere in sight (11am!) and nobody knew where he was - yeah, right!
I was not going to wait 5 hours in a 35 person line just to be told that nobody speaks English (I was told that the last time and discovered that several DO speak English! - but that is to be understood as Mexicans will lie through their teeth at the slightest opportunity rather than accept any responsibility for anything!)
I was told that there would be a Cablemas service booth at the weekend Bike Race in Puerto Morelos, so I decided to go there and tackle a Cablemas agent with my complaints. I met two Cablemas people on Saturday(the booth was not even erected by that afternoon . . .) and one of them walked away rather than take my complaint (BITCH!) and the other admitted that she used Telmex and Dish because Cablemas was so poor!!!
I decide to return on Sunday(today) when the booth would be manned all day. IT WASN'T! By lunchtime they had folded up their tent and scarpered. Sons of bitches!

My advice is do some longterm homework research on the uselessness of Mexican providers - and if you can link by satellite to the USA for an internet provider, you will probably be much better off. This local bunch could not organise a piss-up in a brewery!

Please go easy on the generalizing!! There are Mexican members on this site and they are great people.... as are the majority. Kind of like calling all Cops "Pigs".
